I'd imagine that the Xbox 360 power brick has been UL tested and approved.. It should never become anywhere near hot enough to ignite anything on the outside of it's plastic case. I wouldn't worry about putting that near cardboard at all. 3/4 of the entertainment system furniture out there are made of wood or pictue paper covered particle board.. Is that so different? Have fun.
