Japanese LBP site shows upcoming DLC
Nov 10th 2008 7:12PM (Joystiq Playstation)Media Molecule flickr shows in-game image importing
Nov 5th 2008 11:25AM (Joystiq Playstation)This is new territory and Sony is being very careful. Don't blame MM for this - they've already nailed it, as this photo proves...
Burnout Paradise scores 20k downloads on PSN
Oct 31st 2008 3:52PM (Joystiq Playstation)BUT, one factor most pundits seem to miss is that most ISPs are clamping down on high speed bandwidth which will prevent most people from taking advantage of many direct-to-home movie and game offerings. And that will only get worse as games start getting into the tens of GBs in size.
Ain't gonna happen...
Sony corrects Qore ad, Home access for subscribers only
Oct 30th 2008 10:35AM (Joystiq Playstation)To do this one day late is an incredibly unpopular move. I liked the one Qore episode I downloaded and was going to get this one for sure. After this, I (and millions of others) will probably balk at ever buying one.
Makes you wonder if they really want Home and Qore to succeed...
PS3 Fanboy review: LittleBigPlanet
Oct 28th 2008 10:38AM (Joystiq Playstation)Want to hear something that will have you running for the hills, my friend? COD4 was not even 720p, more like 560p but they use clever techniques to make it the buttery smooth experience that it is.
As for this review, was this written in the middle of a bi-polar relapse? Lavish praise followed by harsh criticism, followed by more... Dude, the reason you don't always get a max jump when holding down X is because this is a physics sandbox environment. If you're on an upslope, or standing on a softer surface (or a ledge) you won't get that far. Try running and jumping from a rubber surface (with the extra traction it provides) or from metal or stone. Duh...
And you list the 'lack of mouse support' as an annoyance? Did anyone ever promise such a feature? I happen to think the controller works very well in the Create mode. You can customize your character innumerous ways, but you want to be able to alter its appearance altogether - as if that is somehow different? You can't change its size or dimensions without redoing the whole collision detection engine - think about it. As for being unrecognizable, have you seen some of the full costumes they already have? Kratos? Nariko? the upcoming Disney characters?
And you 'have to believe' that there will be thousands of gamers out there who WILL devote ridiculous amounts of time to create awe-inspiring levels. And MM already have a full year of DLC lined up which will include new map packs, new textures, objects, and tools. Don't be surprised to see 'water' in a patch.
A reasonable review, but all over the map and at times too critical about non-issues that you just failed to appreciate...
LittleBigPlanet servers are live
Oct 27th 2008 2:45PM (Joystiq Playstation)Home in 'internal testing,' out 'this year'
Oct 27th 2008 11:06AM (Joystiq Playstation)I'd rather chill out on my marina balcony waiting for friends to arrive before launching a game (especially when it's a snowy -30 outside) than do it the traditional way.
And it will be fun to hook up 'virtually' with friends and family all over the globe (private spaces only, yeah yeah).
To all the wet blankets, please do not install Home when it comes out. You're the worst kind of house guests, and not at all welcome. Just play your games, and leave this original, FREE service to those who appreciate it...
Which is a moot point, since 99% of you pissy-pants moaners are xBot trolls just trying to stir things up. I'd have thought you'd be over the moon with your Wii-too avatars. What? Not so cool after all? lol...
Media Molecule comments on LittleBigPlanet delay, new dates revealed
Oct 17th 2008 10:24PM (Joystiq Playstation)I have SEVEN pre-orders for this game (fully paid) and would not, even for ONE second, consider cancelling them and missing out on the gaming experience of a generation.
For all of you who have, good riddance. You're not the types I would really want to share this wonderful, PEACEFUL world with...
In 10-14 days, all this will be forgotten...
Not even the mainstream press can resist SackBoy's charms
Oct 15th 2008 7:43PM (Joystiq Playstation)You know the M$ fanboys are upset when they try to lower user ratings on certain sites, completely in opposition to the rave reviews LBP is getting worldwide, and the universal love from players all over. Truly pathetic.
Keep that in mind as you sift through the troll-posts below...
USA Today's 15,000 LittleBigPlanet keys
Oct 8th 2008 3:20PM (Joystiq Playstation)I've tried every contest to date so I am finally stoked to be in this thing, even if it's only for a few days. Don't forget this latest build allows you to store your creations for launch day onwards so you won't lose any of your inspired creations...
