Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce demo on PSN, Xbox Live Feb. 4
Jan 30th 2010 3:42PM (Joystiq Xbox)Strikeforce is a cross between Dynasty warriors of old and monster hunter, you can now do quests from a village, do various magic spells and group hunt for monsters online, its the biggest change since the series began, so its definitely worth checking out, if just out of curiosity!
Review: Demon's Souls
Oct 13th 2009 12:09PM (Joystiq)Review: Demon's Souls
Oct 13th 2009 6:59AM (Joystiq)I feel its unfair the reviewer comments on "poor design decisions" he has missed the point entirely, each decision was taken with the utmost thought and respect. Games have become more forgiving over the more recent years and especially in the US many games have their difficulty level drummed down further in order to appeal to the masses. In the Jap and UK we tend to have a much more masochistic approach to games, and certainly the first few hours of Demons Souls is tough, but once you begin to understand the system, when to spend your souls, and when to keep them, when to turn back and cash in the souls you have and when to press on for more bounty. The fantastic way the combat is considered and tense, not pandering to button mashing or blind luck. you realise that this is game of staggering achievement that anyone who calls themselves a real gamer should play.
If you live in the US count yourselves lucky you got access to this wonderful experience and embrace it, the EU isnt getting a release at all, so we are all having to import it :/
Kotick questions continued Activision support of Sony platforms [update]
Jun 22nd 2009 8:14AM (Joystiq)Publishing royalties.
Activision pump out a game every 2 weeks or so on the console, everytime they do that 30 - 40% of the cash go to Sony, its the same practice for Microsoft and Nintendo. Its how the console manufactures can help subsidise a consoles lifecycle and development.
The problem is, Activision games aren't selling as well as they would like on Ps3, so he is threatening to "not support the console" in an effort to get his publishing royalties reduced and make more profit.
There are 2 sides to every argument, but personally if his games aren't selling well, then IMO its Activision that have the problem not Sony.
