Kinect plus 3D printing equals instant miniature you
Feb 28th 2011 5:02AM (Joystiq)you said:
"They've been doing this with the PS eye for long time now."
you can create 3d images with any two webcams using the method that's outlined in those links you provided. however, it is not the same as kinect. so saying, "They've been doing this with the PS eye for long time now", is definitely incorrect.
Kinect plus 3D printing equals instant miniature you
Feb 28th 2011 1:12AM (Joystiq)there is such a big difference between kinect and that pseye setup. so you're either a big fanboy or you just don't know what you're talking about. i'm going with a 50/50 split (fanboy/don't know what you're talking about).

THQ and Kaos defend 6 month 'crunch' for Homefront
Jan 17th 2011 11:46PM (Joystiq)i totally agree that working 60+ hr weeks is frustrating and tiresome. however, i can attest that 40 hrs a week is not enough. most programmers underestimate the amount of time tasks will take. on top of that, most programmers are perfectionists.
you have to really enjoy your job for the time to be worthwhile.
any developer from gaming, to desktop apps, to web, will work more than 40 hrs a week. most will do it because they want to, some will do it because they're told to. whether you're self-employed or work for a big company, if you're a developer, a lot of hours is a way of life.
