New Super Mario Bros. Wii coming down the pipe Nov. 15

Sep 23rd 2009 10:39PM (Joystiq)
i look forward to seeing what sorts of multiplayer stuff it'll have. a teamwork mode would be fun.

hopefully the game is lengthy too. looks like it'll be an interesting chill game.

Microsoft has 'no plans' to purchase EA [update]

Sep 23rd 2009 3:02PM (Joystiq)
as bad as this sounds, i would hope that this is real and this helps move towards a one console world. that in itself would probably be illegal, but at the very least it would render system exclusives (timed or not) completely useless. i own all 3 systems so i could get games that would exist on one system but not the other (i.e. mario kart, mgs4, halo, etc.).

of course, another downside to this is that the console would have its consumer base over-saturated.

Why you shouldn't get your video game news from The Wall Street Journal

is IP not a familiar business realm term anyway? it's one thing if they screw up talking about what games they've made, but i would've thought IP as something they'd recognize as business lingo.

WRUP: Tokyo Game ... Kanye! What you doin'?

actually, when i saw the photo at first, i was thinking,

"yo aerith. i'm really happy for you. i'm gonna let you finish, but michael had one of the best deaths of all time."

Stanford's open-source camera could revolutionize photography, you'll still use 'Auto' mode

to me, the camera (like a scanner for example) is used to capture, for a lack of a better word, raw data. the issue i see with some of the software processing on the camera is that it is more processing power that will be required on the camera especially if you shoot RAW. after i load it onto the computer, i can use whatever program i want to edit the photo. at an event, the last thing i want to do is to attempt to do post processing on the spot and later learn it wasn't what i wanted and lose the originals.

if this were an idea for more P&S style cameras, then i can see it being useful since at this level, most people don't consider using products like adobe and such. for example, quadcamera, an iphone app would be useful to have on a P&S ready to go. it's a fun app.

Review: The Beatles: Rock Band

Sep 5th 2009 11:57PM (Joystiq)
even though i never really listened to the beetles at all (their style doesn't really intrigue me from the few songs i've heard from them - i think most of which i heard from a cartoon called scooby doo), i'm going to get this game to see what i can learn about them and be more exposed to their songs to see if i may end up liking them too in the end.

good job harmonix, way to create a game to appeal to beetles fans and non-fans, lol =P

god forbid we aren't completely black box minded and have these "gutted gadgets" posts from time to time.

Canon introduces first Hybrid Image Stabilization lens: EF 100mm Macro

if the reviews are good for this lens, i'll be tempted to buy it along with the 7d if the reviews are good for the 7d also.

Meet the L33t parents and bow before them

the worst part is... i can see myself saying those things in a similar setting. sigh. geekery ftw!

though i must say, the "too long. did not listen" is something new to me. still funny in its placement though. i'll have to keep an eye out for that one.

Wii Sports Resort sells over 500K in US

ironically, this is the first wii game i've bought in months. pretty fun game though this is.

but geez, table tennis 1700+ is ridiculous.
