Joyswag: Kid Icarus Uprising AR Idol Cards

Mar 24th 2012 1:33PM (Joystiq)
My favorite eggplant dish is Briam. It's a Greek side dish with eggplant, of course, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, and garlic. It's pretty amazing. It's great to have Pit back.

Why Sony passed on publishing Demon's Souls in America

Feb 10th 2012 10:17PM (Joystiq)
I was initially drawn to the game because of a solid write up in the now defunct Play Magazine. I think it is pretty easy to see how such a game would seem like a long shot to anyone, and I think that in the end we got a pretty great package from Atlus.

I think that if Sony had localized it, we would have had a game that was not much like the original. So cheers all around, one for Sony for commissioning the game, Atlus for making a very savy acquisition, and for gamers for making a "failure" a hit.

Portabliss: Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword (3DS eShop)

Feb 2nd 2012 11:22PM (Joystiq)
A very cool downloadable game, and at a decent price of 7 bucks. There is a very Okami kind of vibe from this game, so Japanaphiles should take a chance.
I hope to see a lot more new IPs like this on the Eshop.

Joystiq Top 10 of 2011: Shadows of the Damned

Jan 2nd 2012 1:28PM (Joystiq)
I am liking the look of this list so far! I loved shadows, I believe it is one of the dusky gems of this generation.

If you love this game you earned Flemming's Pride.

Journey beta preview: Feeling small

Jul 26th 2011 12:49AM (Joystiq)
The selection of closed beta invites was a triumph of digital distrbution. Tracking Flower's sales and rewarding early adopters is a great idea and a solid way to nurture your market.
Like all their games, Journey is not your typical game. What makes it fun isn't some undefinable quality, but rather the quality of the game and the experience. I was really excited to be in the closed beta, and am proud to say that this is a gamer's game.

Final Fight's Poison playable in Street Fighter X Tekken

@MrAlex
Post-op is fair game. What you didn't know isn't your fault.

Nintendo: 'No plans' to localize Xenoblade, Last Story, or Pandora's Tower

Jun 30th 2011 12:40AM (Joystiq)
This should come as no surprise to anyone. These games won't sell to the current, read casual, audience no matter how hard the faithful cry.
Really, the shame should go to the developers of the games in the first place. It's their fault for trying to grab at the pie in the sky Wii installed user base money. If they had made them for a decent system we could play them.

Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition review: Yun-balanced

Jun 8th 2011 10:24AM (Joystiq)
@Sonictheratherquickhedgehog

Amen sibling. What did Ono say just before the launch of SF IV? Something to the effect of "We will not be producing just a bunch of upgrades like we did with SF II."
Sorry, I know it's not an exact quote but everything about Street Fighter today is a brazen cash grab.
I guess it's my fault for expecting Capcom to not be Capcom.

Vita sizzle reel teases lineup, shows mystery game 'Dragon's Crown'

Jun 7th 2011 12:03AM (Joystiq)
I hope this is a new game, but I am pretty sure it's Grand Knights History. The title font is very similar, and the time it takes VW to make a game would make it unlikely to be new.
