Ubisoft's 'We Dare' to ruin parties for PS3/Wii owners

Feb 24th 2011 5:18PM (Joystiq)
They so should have made the Kinect version...where you be the controller, IF ya know what I mean...

Seriously, though...who has any interest in getting all up close and personal with a video game controller?

Still...this is brilliant.

Swagtastic!

How would you change the outcome of the format war?

Feb 24th 2008 10:36AM (Engadget)
HD-DVD's only shot would have been getting the technology into the Wii. Blu-Ray won thanks to Sony's move of putting it in the PS3. Without that, this war would have been over before it began. Hey, maybe they should've gotten in bed with Atari and dropped some Betamax into the 2600 - they might have won that war, too!

WOW! This is certainly unexpected news. Gee, I hope there is more riveting HD-DVD content tomorrow!

Seriousy, you've been beating a dead horse since the whole NetFlix thing. I'm so tired of this that I almost pulled Engadget from my RSS reader. Think you've covered this enough?

The $20 iPod touch upgrade: really for legal reasons or no?

Jan 21st 2008 4:57PM (Engadget)
I really have no use for these apps, so I'm not planning on spending the money on the update, though I'm okay paying for stuff if I can get some value. Now these apps being included for new iPod customers? That ticks me off. I'm used to the pain associated with being an early adopter, but usually it's a case of the price dropping dramatically a month later or a newer version coming out that my current hardware can't handle. Now I have to add to that the case of "new apps coming out that my current hardware is perfectly capable of running...that cost extra for me...yet new purchasers of the exact same edition of the product get them free out of the box" - UGH. I can't think of any other gadget I own that falls into this category. Sarbanes-Oxley is the excuse for them having to charge?? Wow, now I've heard it all. If it's simply a matter of bookkeeping, then why is this update not 99 cents? Clearly Apple thinks this update is worth $20...if that's the case, why not charge new customers for it as well?
