It's probably not so much about the controls, it's about practicing hand eye coordination. Besides, it depends which game they're playing. I can definitely see this helping them.. pretty cool!

I loved SNES harvest moon. I have the GBA more friends of mineral town, which is great, except it never ends haha. I haven't played the latest ones, although I know they flesh out the romance side of it a lot which I love so at least in the character respect the later ones are better. As for the farming side? Much more complex and varied but I think the SNES one manages to hold up, since they've all got the same core gameplay.
