"Steam makes u go on-line to play a single player game... well i guess u can go off-line to play it to.. "

Go on-line? WTF? Does anyone actually go off-line?

Harrison confident young'ns 'will never buy a physical media product'

No, but European business Atari (formerly Infograms) shit on their European customers by not allowing them to buy the same games from Steam that their North and South American customers can.

I am preemptively blaming "Games for Windows - Live" because it is currently causing me grief in Fallout 3.

wiko: "In any case, you can't compare the RSX in the PS3 to a desktop videocard."
Yes you can:

NVIDIA RSX is a G71 core. It is well documented that Sony bought an off-the-shelf chip from NVIDIA for the PS3, which is for most intents and purposes a GeForce 7800 GTX with 60% of the local memory bandwidth but running 28% faster at 550MHz.

ATI Xenos was a custom designed chip from ATI that was the first commercial GPU to feature a unified shader architecture; which was part of the transition from DirectX9c to DirectX10 in Windows.

So it's the RSX that is more like a desktop card and the Xenos that isn't like any desktop card, but Xenos could be considered the prototype of ATI's DX10 range.

Roto13: perfect. Thank you for proving my point!

World of Goo has 90% piracy rate

@ Roto13: it's not like copying the Mona Lisa

A fairer equivalent is riding the bus/train/plane and pirates are the ticket dodgers, "hey it's going there anyway" they say, but the rest of us pay for our tickets. Not only that, but they are also ripping off the devs, without whom there would be no games.

Pirates should be honest about what they are -- the excuses are pathetic and juvenile -- they are simply people who does not pay for things they use. Cheap cnuts.

World of Goo is a great game though.

+1 Psycho Dad

I wish Ubisoft would fix the widescreen issue though, so in the few minutes a day I have to play games (in between work, Mrs, kids) I could see Far Cry 2 in all it's glory on my widescreen monitor. It's like Bioshock all over again, fingers crossed for next patch.

Far Cry 2 sells a million copies worldwide

I agree that it's pretty good fun, and it looks pretty darn good ... but I wish they would fix the WIDESCREEN problem, it makes driving harder for one thing (as well as cropping).

It took ages to fix in Bioshock, I'm hoping that that Ubisoft will get this fixed up quicker.
