That's not really a fair comparison. Treyarch and Infinity Ward are two totally different companies. Real Time Worlds made Crackdown 1, then a bunch of those people went and started Ruffian Games, who is now making Crackdown 2. It's like getting your name changed and how that doesn't suddenly alter your abilities. Tell your boy that it's more or less the SAME developer (at least, the people who matter most), just not under the same name.

My Elite just stopped reading discs two weeks ago. Being ME, I popped it open to clean the drive lense, only to learn that wasn't the problem...

My launch unit died a month before the Elite hit, so I took it as a sign and nabbed the Elite. Now the Elite starts dying and THIS shows up.

Oh well, my friends get my leftover accessories, so it looks like SOMEBODY will be getting a 120GB drive for xmas.

Don't think it's odd, I'm with you. The game looks fast-paced and fun, but the whole 'sexy librarian' thing is just so repulsing to me that I probably won't get the game because of it. It's just too distracting and unappealing to ignore, particularly in a third-person action game where have the fun is watching your character pull of all sorts of awesome.

Given how much walking I do around campus, this sounds pretty cool to me, anyway. If it's included in the game package, I'll probably use it. If it's sold separately for ≈$10, I'll consider it.

I have mondays off this semester. I am VERY happy that this is the case.

Does the Zune work with macs now? I'm an art student, the entire department is mac-based. So I bought a mac + adobe CS4. I have an iPod touch, but if this Zune / XBox integration thing is good enough I would want to look at it. I know the first gen Zune didn't work with macs, meaning I CAN'T buy one no matter how much I'd like to.

Like it or no, apple's market share has been rising. It's still nothing compared to windows, I know, but it's still there. It's an entire portion of the market that was (is?) being ignored. Not all mac users are apple snob-fanboys.

It depends though. If the game selection is strong enough, I may nab one to use just for that.

The Elder Scrolls games on consoles aren't particularly pretty. Draw distance in Oblivion is downright puny, XBox's Morrowind was stuck at a slideshow framerate. Don't get me wrong, I love Oblivion (1250/1250, actually) but I would never qualify it as a 'pretty' game, nor would I buy any of Bethesda's games solely for their looks (Fallout 3 comes close, I will admit). What compels me to nab games Bethesda makes has always been the game design and their take on the RPG system, which is wholly portable to Wii. I'm not saying this is universal; many games benefit from the cinematic visual presentation you suggest, but as far as an Elder Scrolls game is concerned I would enjoy the game regardless of how it looks.

Fallout Thwii?

I actually like the earlier-posted idea of a Morrowind remake. Well, maybe not a wiimake because people tend to hate those these days, but a new Elder Scrolls for wii would be nice. Add motionplus for swordplay and you could count me in.
