Partial DJ Hero 2 artist list revealed at Activision event

Nope. Still won't believe it. And no DJ I've ever met has ever used that term. Most 'Electronica' music sits under a smaller subgenre that people use because Electronica is such a vague, blanket term.

Wiki: (Yeah, it's Wiki)
Electronica includes a wide range of contemporary electronic music designed for a wide range of uses, including foreground listening, some forms of dancing, and background music for other activities; however, unlike electronic dance music, it is not specifically made for dancing

A genre that can be used for ANY KIND OF LISTENING, and is for both DANCING and NOT DANCING. That is the most vague thing I've ever heard in my life, and considering a ton of Electronic music can't be danced to, I'd say this term is pretty useless.

I love Beatmania. But the fact that there's more to do in Beatmania that ISN'T scratch focused than in DJ Hero is the problem. DJ Hero is all about the scratching. With only 3 buttons (on the turntable no less) they can't do anything that deviates from scratching for too long like Beatmania can.

I'd also love to see more DLC for these games. I completely understand why it's so expensive, but it's so expensive! c:

@(Unverified) I Remember (Vocal Mix) is probably my favorite of his Non Electro stuff. Ghosts N Stuff is kind of overplayed, but I love it. So much. Rob is great, and even the version without ROb is amazing. ElectroHouse is probably my favorite genre ever.

Evol Intent would be GREAT, maybe some NOISIA and Spor...Oooooo...16bit. I would love to see what these DJs could mix that would actually scratch well over these guys though.

I could see them putting in NOISIA's Exodus (song) in there. It had a good rap section that was fairly clean.

@(Unverified) DJ S3RL...? REALLY? He's so bad. Happy Hardcore is not very good music for a game like this anyway. Sure you could put it in, but it's just too fast to do anything really fun with. Especially if you want some S3RL in there.

I would love to see some Pendulum, even some of their new clubby stuff from Immersion would be nice.

Okay guys, this is gonna be a long one.

1) There is no such thing as Electronica music. Electronic, yes.

2) There is no Techno in this game, Techno is a subgenre that is mostly complete garbage. Prodigy & Cemical Brothers are Big Beat, Deadmau5 & Daft Punk are House (Well, Daft Punk is French House if you wanna get UPPITY with me). Tiesto is Trance. Justice is Electro (For the most part), etc.

3) Contrary to popular belief (from what I can see here, it's popular anyway), DJs still play a lot of pop music. Raves and Rap Battles aren't the only things DJs do. Clubs, parties, etc. Even if they don't like it, they still play pop like LADY GAGA because they have to. It's what regular people want.

4) Another reason for pop music is that it's much easier to sample and scratch over. If you put a pop track over an Electronic one, you scratch and morph the pop while leaving the Electronic one the same.

5) Kind of goes with 4. I am a DJ, I play mostly Electro, House, Hardcore, and DubStep in my sets. This music is (for the most part) NOT GOOD FOR SCRATCHING. DJ Hero would be absolutely no fun if it were all fades, effects, and BEATMATCHING. A BEATMATCHING game, OH BOY!

Anyway, for the lighter side of this comment, I'm looking quite forward to this. I bought the first, and I'll buy this one. I'm VERY excited to hear Deadmau5. I know it's overplayed, but I love Ghosts N Stuff in either FEATURING ROB mode or not. I'd really love to see 'I Remember' on there. It's such a beautiful Deep House track.

I'm also really hyped for Prodigy and Chemical Brothers. Firestarter, Spitfire, Smack My Bitch Up, etc. Just to start for Prodigy. Chemical Brothers could bring so much to the table too. Galvanize, Block Rockin' Beats, Giant (My personal favorite), etc. Gotta love that Big Beat!

Don't do it. Just buy 2, and keep WAW. 3 was such a joke.

Not quite, but you can get COD 2 and WAW for about 40 bucks, and you could just skip the POS that 3 was.

Still pissed that it's focused on the ULTRAMARINES. Still looking very forward to it, but come on.
