Wait, could you send an analogue signal over DVI?
I'm thinking they might've added the HDMI port on the box (case mod), re-wired the 360's regular vid-out pins to those of the HDMI "port", then used a HDMI-DVI converter, cos the TV accepts analogue over DVI... I mean, if it's real, then why not really plug it into an HDTV VIA HDMI??

If DVI doesn't carry analogue signals, I'm sorry and ignore this post :)
