Look! There are new The Last Guardian screens
Feb 1st 2010 7:10PM (Joystiq)Keep in mind; I'm a self proclaimed PS3 "fanboy"; I'm not a "hating on the 360" type of fanboy; because a guy has to recognized when a game is good no matter what console it is on. Of course; lets not forget the PS3 (IN MY OPINION and I'm sure I'm not alone on this) has the best exclusives. This game right here is a perfect example of it; and we all know this simply because the last two games made by this developer were basically work of art and very emotionally driven games.
That being said; I honestly think that so far; it's going to be a 3 way bout between God of War 3 vs The Last Guardian vs Mass Effect 2.
I hope no one downvoted just because they read the first part of the first paragraph and already labeled me as a 360 fanboy trying to start trouble. That being said; add me on AnarchistPhenom; on the PSN.

Dec 14th 2009 12:50AM (Joystiq)I'm happy that Assassin's Creed 2 won Best Action/Adventure.
Liveblogging the 2009 Spike Video Game Awards
Dec 14th 2009 12:47AM (Joystiq)I mean COME ON! People...don't get me wrong I like Jack Black, I think his brand of comedy is good.
But just because the guy hosted an award show last year, doesn't mean he should win this. I mean literally Nolan North WORKED HIS ASS OFF. From the first Uncharted to Uncharted 2. Can anyone imagine any other voice on Nathan Francis Drake? besides Nolan North?
The guy has charisma, he can do serious voice acting, funny one-liners. It's sad that a Hollywood actor has to win a Voice Acting award, over a guy that is KNOWN in plenty of games, anime, and 3D movies as one of the most popular voice actors in the western world.
That was a crime.
That being said, I'm glad Uncharted 2 got GOTY, Best Graphics and Best PS3 Game.
I'm also happy that Modern Warfare 2 won Best Shooter and Best Multiplayer which makes sense.
Also, for the whole Best 360 Game. Seriously? Left 4 Dead is better then Modern Warfare?
First gameplay footage of Medal of Honor revealed
Dec 14th 2009 12:16AM (Joystiq)People, Competition brews better games.
Did we all forget that Medal of Honor was out before Call of Duty. I can see intelligent people on this site didn't, but alot of these CoD fanboys are making themselves look dumb.
Now, yes it's true the gameplay is similar to MW2, but it has to be because MW is such a popular series, people it's called Capitalism.
I have high hopes for MoH and I hope that it's better then CoD MW2. That way the CoD series can work even harder to make a better game. I mean, MW2 had a short single player campaign and I heard from alot of MW1 veteran players that, MW2 isn't as good as the first one. I'm talking about people that play the game on it's original platform the PC.
Look, I'm the first one to tell you that I'm a huge HUGE God of War fan, and yes Dante's Inferno is a blatant rip off, but fact of the matter is; is that it's a homage to the gameplay of God of War, and that breeds better competition.
It's not that bad to be a fanboy of a certain game, but it's horrible to try and put a game down just because it's similar to your precious little game, get use to it. The gaming industry is about making money. Look at what happened to Tony Hawk games, it got outdone by the game Skate and I can guarantee you that the next Tony Hawk game will have similar gameplay and controls to Skate.
Dante's Inferno creators explain 'Violence' in latest dev diary
Dec 11th 2009 9:45PM (Joystiq)Much like Prototype was 360's inFamous. The only thing is, that the PS3 owners can play 360's version of GoW, and 360's version of InFamous.
Anyways, it's funny because this will only end up making people buy more PS3. If the 360 owner has never played a God of War game and he tries this, and if he likes it. He'll be hungry for more, and he will buy a PS3 to give God of War 3 a try, hell they might even give God of War Collection a try to see what happens before God of War 3.
In general, this game coming out, will actually help get God of War 3 even more sales.

Dec 11th 2009 9:27PM (Joystiq)However this is clearly a rental, and it's not worth not even 40$ let alone 60 bucks.
Indeed this game is a RENTAL and not a must buy. I can literally see myself getting the Platinum for this game within 3 days, maybe 4 if the Hardest difficult actually brings a challenge.
I'll give you an example, games like Mirror's Edge were cool and nice to play but no where near worth 60$.
I'm sure most people that are fans of God of War games will most likely end up renting this game, enjoy it for what it is and then move on.
Neill Blomkamp put 5 months into canceled Halo film
Aug 7th 2009 2:07AM (Joystiq Xbox)I mean Sony has deals of already bringing out an Uncharted movie, inFamous movie, and even a Metal Gear movie (Not sure if a MGS movie is true or not).
Dante's Inferno 'King Minos' bossfight looks more familiar than ever
Jul 28th 2009 3:30PM (Joystiq)I just wanted to put out facts, so people know the scope of my argument. I personally don't just make claims without any evidence, and I'm not saying you did either. Consider it more like what I did as a constructive criticism, not towards you but towards a lot of misconceptions that people have, that really have no merit. So it wasn't a personal attack to you.
Now as for Resident Evil 5 selling 6 million, that's all great and I'm glad that it sold that much, I myself don't have a problem with multiplatform games, I think it's great that they sold that many, but you also have to keep in mind on that Resident Evil when they first started off, they were already hitting the 5 million mark, atleast on the PS, but you also could add up the sales for the Saturn and the PC version. Resident Evil has always really been multiplatform, especially if you consider all of it's spin-off that it had on the Gamecube and PS2. Resident Evil is a perfect example of my first argument. When a game is established and has been around for quite some time, that game will sell more because it's already known to the public.
Dead Space is of a similar genre of Resident Evil, especially the early Resident Evil games. Now Dead Space is a good game, but it's a new fresh game, so of course any game with a Resident Evil title will sell way more. It's exactly the same thing I'm saying with God of War and Dante's Inferno. It doesn't matter if it's multiplatform or not, what matters is; whether or not that game is known by the people.
I hope you didn't get offended because I didn't mean to offend, I only meant to educate in a way.
Dante's Inferno 'King Minos' bossfight looks more familiar than ever
Jul 27th 2009 7:13PM (Joystiq)Hell I'll even feel bad about renting it, but I want to compare it to the Epicness that is God of War 3. I mean when you compare both videos, you clearly see that the animations, the gore, the actions, the way he moves and the innovation we all know that God of War 3 will be way ahead in review scores and story and so on.
When you look at something like Dante's Inferno aka God of War 1.5 it has a lot of old animations, it's not as detail. Which makes sense since it's a multiplatform.
