Agreed. To say that the DS library is thin is ridiculous, unless he's insecure enough that playing a game with no blood threatens his manliness.

What about Excite Truck? Steering with the Wiimote was very good, better than a thumbstick I think.

So Nintendo is intentionally keeping down supply of a console, when they make a profit on the hardware, have three major competitors (one with a year head start) and desperately need to attract third party devs (which requires a large installed base).

Where's the logic in that? The value of selling a Wii near launch is much greater than one later in the console's life.

I don't think pointer functionality would help much with a fire emblem game, they're designed too well around the d-pad already.

It's like Advance Wars:DS - sure, you could use the touch screen if you wanted, but it was much quicker to just use the d-pad.

The average household salary in the UK and the US is about the same (~$45k), strange that they think we can afford more. VAT is ridiculously high over here, though.

The UK price probably includes 17.5% VAT (sales tax), so it's not all Sony's fault it's so expensive.

Is the first rush of sales followed by a rapid drop a sign of a lack of word of mouth effect? I know I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, I managed 2 hours before getting bored.
