'Super Mario' 3DS teased with tail logo

Mar 2nd 2011 1:20PM (Joystiq)
@PointlessPuppies You sir, are an idiot. First off think of your favorite game, chances are that game wouldn't "be" without Mario. Second off, the reason Nintendo fans are so easily pleased is because they still realize how to enjoy the simplicity in video games that is now covered up by piles and piles of 'good' graphics and bad game design. Third off, this *is* a big deal as it's the team that did Super Mario Galaxy (just FYI, guaranteed SMG2 got more praise then your favorite game) AND it's gonna be in 3D, not to mention the tail that hints as to having everyones favorite Tanooki suit from Super Mario Bros. 3. We are getting heart attacks, and were proud of it. Call of Duty gives people the same heart attacks and what is it? I recreation of reality (and a lousy one at that) with almost no creativity put behind it. Also, nothing you say will ever change US Nintendo fans, so get used to it. Chump.

@Saria the Cat

If you HAVE a Wii, and your ashamed that *more people* aren't gonna get to experience it -- i say this to you: If there's one console to be exclusive on it's the Wii, as more people HAVE one than any other system, and anyone who doesn't... can get a fully functional one for only 200 bones!

I see what you're saying about it needing to get OUT THERE more, but if this is to be a polished experience-- i'm almost 100% sure multi-platforming it right out the gate would mar the final quality. Plus, who wants to PAINT with a analog stick? Who hooks their Dualshock up to their PC and jumps on microsoft paint with it? Really?

Oh let me guess, it could support PlayStation Move? I'm sure this has been in development ALOT longer than PS Move has and the Wii deserves it first as it was the innovator of the *wand* technology.

Also, to all you graphic whores (hell i'm one of em) do know that when a game is technologically constrained -- one of two things happens: 90% of the time the graphics look and feel like the technology that's running them ... BUT ... (wait for it) .... the other 20% of the time forces the developer to have to TRY to make their game look good. No more slapping on a high res texture pack, some Unreal Engine luster & calling it cake. They actually have to have their artists go above and beyond to make sure the experience your getting is unlike anything you've ever played before (all systems included).

That said, i think we will get a re-release on PS3 with Move support, i really do. I still think it's best that it comes out on Wii first for polish reasons (as mentioned above) and because the Wii deserves it, plain & simple. I mean c'mon-- together -- Mario & Mickey will take over the universe! Plus, a re-release would most likely mean EXTRA content which in a game like this, content is what it thrives off of as the universe is filled with almost 100 years of content! Now, let's see how much they can fit on a standard DVD. . .

Swords & Soldiers coming to PSN this fall, published by Sony Online Entertainment

Wow, this game was GREAT on the Wii!

Only downside was no online support... and now they give it to us! Cheers!
