The real "HD-Era" begins Feb. 17th, 2009

Feb 16th 2006 3:24AM (Joystiq)
again as #3 said, Digital does not mean higher resoultion. Just a means of devilery. Making the signals digital as opposed to analog allows for more space in the airwaves for other purposes...wireless internet for example...

So...companies should not meet consumer demand? Comsumers want a DS that is less ugly, Nintendo provided. Apple does it, Sony does it, its not "N-trickery" its just how bussinesses work. Welcome to Capitalism.

DICE: Reggie commands, "Innovate or die"

Yep, because everyone knows there is a statue of limitations for fun games. [/sarcasm]

"
All whiney because they have lost the majority of their 3rd party support, thats all. I dont recall nintendo screaming about innovation or quality of games back in the SNES days. High prices? Look at the N64 days.
"
and you know what? they are slowly getting 3rd parties back. You know how? The same way Sony got them, lower costs. Back in the SNES days is when gaming was re-envigorated there was no need to innovate. Nintendo recognizes that without interface innovation it limits the creative capacity of gaming. Gaming is reaching a plateau where more power does not beget original titles. Many of our existing genres are so far developed that most games are copies of existing formulas. The rev controller essentially brings gaming back to the start. Scratch that the rev controller essentially makes a new starting line. All the games we are gonna play from here on out (for the first couple of years at least) will all be something new. wheather the games are good or not is yet to be seen, but at least even if its a shitty game. Its a shitty game that we've never played before.

"Slapping mario in a tennis game is not innovation. What about pokemon red/blue, silver/gold, emerald/ruby and all of that? Thats a MILLION TIMES worse than what anyone else did: they sold the same game twice without changing a damn thing. What about throwing pokemon into pinball? Innovative? Hardly."
Mario Sports titles have ALWAYS been about intuitive controls. Nintendo is not saying every game should be OMGINNOVATIVE. But there is a point where one must question if he continues walking down a path that never wavers, should one go uncompromised forever?

Where would we be if Nintendo did not introduce the digital pad? analog stick? rumble? true wireless controllers? here: http://www.axess.com/twilight/console/detail/2600.jpg

All
of these have devs has comfirmed/suggested development respectivly. The reason why we are not hearing anything about the games is because of the NDAs.

In response to the rev only having a quarter of RAM and .5 the CPU power of the competition, that is only a rumor but we do know the type of RAM the Revolution is using is superior then the DDR3 that the 360 and PS3 uses. Nintendo NEVER said the graphics will not be as good as the competition, the simply said the Rev will not be as powerful. From what people have seen first hand about the Rev capability that is definitly true.

HD will eat up alot of resources. Especially if you have an average computer if you turn up the resolution on your games, you take a huge perfomance hit.

Just the facts, ma'am

SHIPPED. What about sold? 15million shipped =/= 15 million in the hands of consumers.

PSP to increase lead over DS in 2005

Jan 24th 2006 7:35PM (Joystiq)
I never said all og those games were great and worth getting. I merely posted the list compiled of the games coming out for '06. All of those games must appeal to someone, it is an example of the diversity in its library. Just out of curiousity do you actually know anything about the games you question Matt, or are you just judging by name? There are 34 games on the list I will definitly check out. Looking at the PSP lineup at best 17 peak my intterest some of which are likely to end up being PORTable versions of the console counterparts.

Why is it that when people post thier grievances they are automatically branded as "fanboys". Is the PSP flawless?! absolutly not. Is the DS?! NO. Each system has its flaws.

I use the term suffer, because...it is. There is no doubt in my mind that the PSP can do alot better if the design philosophy were altered. Playing Socom on the PSP is NOTHING compared to the PS2 version and simply nowhere near as fun. Games like Luminies,Valkyrie Profile,Kingdom of Paradise, etc. are the way to go. Original games designede to the hardware, not watered down portable versions of console games that is the majority of the library of the PSP.

Ganon's back! New Twilight Princess details

Jan 24th 2006 5:29PM (Joystiq)
Personally, I'm sick of fighting Ganon, I'm sick of finding the Master sword, I'm sick of cutting grass for rupees, etc.

I was really hoping the main nemesis for Zelda:TP would not be ganon...

PSP to increase lead over DS in 2005

Jan 24th 2006 5:27PM (Joystiq)
I will admit the PSP is a sexy media player, the web surfing is neat but is too troublesome it takes me 2 minutes to type in a web adress in that thing...However the PSP has simply lost sight of its original function, to play games. There is simply no playing at this station.
