Pros get into the nitty gritty of Street Fighter x Tekken

Jun 25th 2011 1:55AM (Joystiq)
In before a clueless, poorly skilled Joystiq blogger makes a hilariously misinformed rant about how imbalanced this game is. Note to clueless, skill less bloggers: When Capcom goes to get feedback and playtesting on their games, they ask these guys, not you.

Referring specifically to this MvC3 preview:

Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition review: Yun-balanced

Jun 8th 2011 4:58AM (Joystiq)
Yes Ono admitted that he deliberately unbalanced AE, the result being that only a handful of fighters are competitive at the highest level of player skill. SF3 was also like this, but it had the advantage of a more complex system and a higher skill cap.

The consensus is that (assuming both players are equally skilled) once Yun starts his mixup/pressure game, almost every character in the game is at a significant disadvantage with a very low chance of breaking out of it. Even Daigo can go on losing streaks against other top players if he ends up getting hit first.in a Yun vs Yun match.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 preview: Crossover chaos

If the person in the vid is the author, you can easily tell he is terrible at fighting games. I recommend the author stick to playing glorified PR blog agent and leave the playtesting and feedback to skilled players who know what the hell they're doing.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 preview: Crossover chaos

Capcom will be paying attention to feedback from professional Capcom game players who make a living on tourneys, not whiny hacks who think 'playing fighting games for a while' is a valid indicator of skill or credentials.

Front Mission Evolved dev diary is all about the wanzers

Jun 28th 2010 6:40AM (Joystiq)
@(Unverified) FM4 had plenty of tactics and strategy to figure out.If you thought it was too simple or easy you could always try a player defined challenge.

Front Mission Evolved dev diary is all about the wanzers

Jun 27th 2010 9:18PM (Joystiq)
Most players and reviewers who tried Front Mission 4 were too incompetent to do the basic arithmetic required to optimize their Wanzer setups or apply the most rudimentary tactical strategies, what makes the developers think it will be any different here?

Unofficial Smash Bros. Brawl rebalancing update released

Apr 19th 2010 6:00PM (Joystiq)
>professional tournament players

ahahahahahaahha.

All 'competitive smash players' desperately want Super Smash Bros. to be a competitive fighting game like Street Fighter, but of course this will never happen, since the game is completely geared towards casuals. In fact, most self-imposed 'competitive smash players' rules are aimed towards making the game more like Street Fighter anyway. So why don't they just play Street Fighter? The answer is simple: they're idiots who are too obsessed with Nintendo's intellectual property to play a legitimate fighter.

The OverAchiever: The 25 most evil achievements, part 1

Apr 15th 2010 9:55PM (WoW)
Most feats of strength like A Tribute to Immortality dwarf normal achievements in difficulty. A lot of achievements get easier over time while these generally don't. Here are the most difficult, most of which are no longer attainable.

A Tribute to Immortality
Amani War Bear
Hand of A'dal
High Warlord/Grand Marshall
Insane in the Membrane
Invincible's Reins
Scarab Lord
X (season title) Gladiator
