Toshiba Mini NB305 review
Jan 15th 2010 4:46PM (Engadget)What no one mentioned in this review or any of the others is the impact of Windows 7 on the benchmarks and battery life. Windows 7 is probably undercutting performance in both areas about 10 - 20 percent and while it may not be as flashing it works better for computers like this.
Acer Aspire One 532h review
Jan 13th 2010 10:13PM (Engadget)$299 for Windows 7 Starter, 10.1" screen, 8 hours of battery, and 160GB hard drive. The extra $100 gets you a lot more computer, but I'm sure you know people like I do who could do a lot more with an extra $100 in their pocket.
For everyone else - this does come in XP, but you have to pay $329, and if you look to buy one you should search AO532h since none of the stores stocking it pull it up as just "532h."
Acer Aspire One 532h review
Jan 13th 2010 9:15PM (Engadget)I actually wrote aobut it here: http://www.netbookreports.com/2009/12/how-the-pine-trail-n450-processor-will-keep-intel-on-top/
There are some people who suggest that you can hex edit the drivers of the 3150 so it thinks it's a 3100 but no one has made it work yet.

Dec 31st 2009 9:32PM (Engadget)This is for people who just want to type and browse on the go.
Also, in the article it says the video card is a 1350, it looks like the numbers got switched around.
Ion netbooks head-to-head: Atom, overcharged?
Dec 30th 2009 4:31PM (Engadget)That's the biggest difference between these netbooks and low end laptops. You won't be able to watch a clip on Hulu let alone a show on a dirt cheap laptop. These netbooks are optimzed for the thousands of people leaving their cable company and watching most of their video content online.
Newegg, Zipzoomfly keep selling out of their stock of the 1201N so obviously people want to pay. The only place which seems to have them actually in stock is B&H: http://www.netbookreports.com/2009/12/1201n-asus-netbook-in-stock-at-bh/ - and there's no telling how long that will last.
People want 12" computers which are video centric and have better battery life than "standard" notebooks. I'm not sure anyone would pay more than $500, but that's the sweet spot every manufacturer is going to be aiming toward.

Dec 17th 2009 8:13PM (Engadget)The best I can do now is preorder from Amazon or B&H.

Nov 30th 2009 1:08PM (Engadget)The ION version sounds cool, but if I'm going to pay $450 I'd rather have an older C2D notebook with DVD burner, more memory and larger hard drive.
$350 is my limit and at $329, this just might just be up my alley. Found some other great information about the 1201HA here: http://www.netbookreports.com/2009/11/1201ha-asus-netbook-now-available/
Engadget's Black Friday giveaway, part eleven: win a 32GB Zune HD!
Nov 28th 2009 12:28AM (Engadget)Poll: Will you be buying a sub-$100 Blu-ray player for Black Friday?
Nov 26th 2009 2:12PM (Engadget HD)As far as everyone else goes, cheap Blu-ray players and cheap movies means that more and more people will actually start buying these. The deal I've seen is for a $69 Blu-ray player at onSale.com: http://www.tvlampsnbulbs.com/2009/11/onsale-win-black-friday-contest-for-best-hdtv-deals/
