Amazon announces next wave of Frustration-Free Packaging

Aug 26th 2009 5:54PM (Engadget)
It's cool to be green so of course they'll point out the eco-benfits.
Of course the main reason they don't mind is because it saves them the cost of packaging, main reason for clamshell packaging is because it makes it harder to steal stuff. You can't steal from an online store so it's not needed for that. Don't need attractive eye-catching stuff either, so a cheap brown box will do.
Still it's good there doing this, just don't be oblivious of why.

XVII new screenhots of Final Fantasy XIV

FFXIV has been in development for as long as XIII too. They showed off some of it years back when giving some tech demos of the Crystal Engine. I think it was called "rapture project" or something then.

they've said not, to use Skype or vent instead.
Guess it has to do with cross platform compatibility. (cos PS3 and PC can both use keyboards for typing, but not the same voip solutions)

GRIN's 'unreleased masterpiece' was a Final Fantasy game codenamed 'Fortress'

Aug 20th 2009 11:27AM (Joystiq)
Kotaku were giving off the impression this was a sequel to FF12( which I kinda doubt a main series game would be outsourced) but have Square ever even outsourced games.
Just it doesn't make sense. Why would SE outsource a FF game, and to grin? especially as they have Eidos if they really wanted a western made FF game.
I guess unless SE come out and confirm or deny this we will never know if it was a FF game or just a RPG like game that was to be published by them.

I should point out I already have a PS3. However my dads got a special birthday lined up soon, and he's been eyeing up a PS3 for several years now.

Yeah. I'm more interested in price drops. Don't care if the PS3 is fat or slim, only how much it'll hurt my wallet.

Wow, for almost netbook specs that is not a netbook price.
Heck it's not even Advent price.
