Journey review: I want to go to there

Mar 1st 2012 9:16PM (Joystiq)
I guess most folks on here have never heard the phrase quality over quantity. I really understand the argument about being budget conscience, but most of you are looking at the price point as some sort of cash grab.

I am generally not a day one purchaser either, but when a truly innovative title comes along I feel the developer earned their fee (whatever they ask).

How many folks complaining about the price point put some cash into the Double Fine Kickstarter? There is no indication of how long that title will be and some LucasArts games could be played through in 4+ hours. The money is what keeps the creativity going.

EA's Origin has signed up 9.3 million players since launch

@FuzzyPierce
I was going to say that a good number of these users might very well be Sims users. In order to get patches or new expansions packs they will have to convert to Origin. As non-typical gamers they don't care about or use other digital distribution channels.

Even the "active" user count would like be skewed as the default is to login on boot-up a setting most wouldn't change.

GameStop pulls Deus Ex: Human Revolution PC versions from shelves

Actually if someone gave me chance to try it for free anywhere, I would take a stab. That's why gamestop thinks this a A BIG Deal. They don't want Onlive to beat them to the punch and this might be just the leverage Onlive uses to do that.

I would support this over the simple removal of the code. Either way it seriously anti-competitive.

Those typically refer to coupons on the outside of the packaging where it would be seen as advertising the competitor. What if they'd done this with the ps3 version of portal 2, heads would role!

What's next an in game add for gamefly, they have someone Recode the game a make new discs. Gamestop is "promoting" a competitor, if the add is inside the package, unless they actually produce the title.
