Deus Ex: Human Revolution sneaks to Mac on April 26

Apr 5th 2012 11:10AM (Joystiq)
@ eat it If you can get the game for the same price or less than the PC version, then fine. It IS a good game, and well worth playing, especially for Dues Ex fans. However, I have never understood the mac gaming mentality. Publishers release a game for Mac a year or two after it hits every other platform, including PC...and then ask full price for it! This was excusable when Macs were running PowerPC chips and could not run Windows...but in this day and age, when most OSX users also run Windows under boot camp or parallels...why would anyone choose to pay more for a "Mac version", when they can just run the PC version instead and save $30?

Report: Capcom sees 'no distinction' between on-disc and off-disc DLC

Apr 4th 2012 6:42PM (Joystiq)
Funny, because I see no distinction between, say, Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10....or Super Street Fighter and Ultimate Super Street Fighter. Since they can't find the distinction between providing additional value and RIPPING OFF THEIR CUSTOMERS, I will not be buying their games anymore. I already boycotted EA games from my house for the very same reason. Who's next?

PlayStation 3 gets Amazon Instant Video ... kinda out of nowhere

Apr 4th 2012 6:39PM (Joystiq)
Dont get me wrong, its absolutely FANTASTIC that Amazon VOD is available now on the PS3...but the fact that I have to have 4 or 5 or 6 SEPARATE apps to be able to try and find content...this is quite simply ridiculous! At first, when VOD was first getting started, we had plenty of content, day and date with the DVD and Blu-Ray releases. Now, we are seeing more and more "exclusive" rentals, only available on one service or another...usually after a "window" of 30 to 60 days after being available "for purchase" (yeah, like I am going to buy a DRM ridden movie that will only play on one platform! Give me a friggin' break!). If this keeps up, I am going to sell all my electronics and go back to reading! Oh, wait...the publishers have screwed THAT up too! Screw it, I am going pirate! ARRRR!

Deus Ex: Human Revolution sneaks to Mac on April 26

Apr 4th 2012 6:18PM (Joystiq)
Anyone who buys the Mac version is a bloody fool! This will retail for $39.95 (Amazon), when you can get the PC version for $15! The PS3 and Xbox versions I have seen for less than $10!

Most Mac users can run Windows (or at least run Windows software)...so why the hell would anyone pay $40 for a $10 game????

Rumor: Stripped down Xbox planned for 2013

Mar 26th 2012 6:20PM (Joystiq)
Soooo....they are going to make a version of Windows for ARM processors that wont run actual Windows apps, now they are going to make an "XBox lite" that wont run Xbox games! Great job fragmenting your own products Microsoft! Should be a REAL hit! (not!)

Mass Effect 3 director defends DLC, endings with 'common sense'

Yeah, I want to see him defend the practice of offering consumable in game items for real money. Come on...try!

Dyad is a mind-altering substance

@gooniegoogoo2 LOL, I know what you mean! I still have a dusty copy of Frequency on my bookshelf waiting fruitlessly for the day that they restore PS2 compatibility...(sigh!)

So far, so good: Why the Vita rises where the PSP fell

Mar 2nd 2012 5:06PM (Joystiq)
@wqerty You are missing out on one of the great racing franchises of all time! I bought a PS2 when Wipeout Fusion was released (and was let down), and bought my PS3 when WipeoutHD was released (not feeling let down at all!). Now, I will probably buy the Vita just for 2048 (which also allows you to race PS3 WipeoutHD players!). Try playing Wipeout again, get through a few races, you wont regret it!

Deus Ex: Human Revolution still coming to Mac, ESRB reassures

Feb 28th 2012 12:19PM (Joystiq)
@Rasral Or, you could save yourself $50, boot into Windows using Boot Camp, and play the PC version which just went on sale for $10 as a digital download....just sayin'

One post for three very different Vita launch trailers

Feb 27th 2012 7:38PM (Joystiq)
I am in for Katamari and Escape Plan, and will also be getting Wipeout 2048 and Stardust. The ninja game looks utterly forgettable...pass.
