Are people talking about Radio Shack for the first time since ive been born, also Yes, no such thing as bad publicity, even if it is because of how incredibly out of touch your marketing efforts are

Sony: 1mln to 1.2mln PS3s for North America in '06

ps2 had absolutly no real competition when it first shipped other than the poor dreamcast which completly destroyed by sony's marketing campaign. Now sony is the company with their system shipping last instead of microsoft and microsoft has never had such a strong showing before. I really believe that the proven ds formula is going to mint money for nintendo with the WII although those losses arent necessarily in direct competition with the ps3 simply because the price difference keeps both systems targetted at completly different people. 360 is going to sell like crazy this holiday. With a strong holiday line up of games and proper advertising microsoft stands to do very well.

Microsoft's "Argo" / Xbox wireless portable media player

I think this is a step in the right direction for microsoft. They seem to know their consumer by now and simply by looking at creative and their control scheme, we can see that alternatives to the wheel simply arent as good. Its ridiclious to act like apple has some sort of special right to use the concept of the wheel. To the previous post, yea apple owns the patient for their click wheel design that is an apple innovation but that doesnt bar other companies from using the wheel in their designs.

While im not a fan of the silver on the wheel i do like the simplicity of the design, the aspect ratio of 16:9, and its potential for connectivity beyond what the ipod can do, ie connect further with xbox 360, wireless downloads, possibly blutooth out of the box, etc.

Even to apple fans out there you should all rejoice at the prospect of a challanger from microsoft. Real competiton will only push apple to better their product with more features and functionality. Apple wont be able to get away with things like a 12 hour battery life anymore just because their newest model is thinner than the last.

Competition is always good and even if this player doesnt live up to what i hope it will the idea of microsoft entering the market is hopefully enough to scare apple into putting out a better mp3 player.

For all those people with no faith in microsofts software ability all i have to say is their latest version of their pmc software is incredibly easy to use and visually pleasing. Ive used it through the gigabeat s and experienced no problems. While i hope they have something more unique in mind for this new player to distinguish it from the gigabeat and other similar players, the fact that this software has gotten so good has restored my faith in their ability to deliver in that department.
