Hands-on: iGUGU Gamecore, 'the most powerful TV videogame console'

Jan 10th 2010 9:19PM (Joystiq)
The Atari Jaguar wasn't just an OEM PC in a smaller form factor using off the shelf PC parts running standard PC games while claiming to be a console.

Lil' Wayne apparently has a modded Xbox

Well, now I don't feel bad about pirating his music.

Just kidding, I would never waste my time downloading that shit.

Interview: SCEA's Eric Lempel on PSP minis, scrapped UMD conversion

@ Cody

No, as we're talking about non-rewritable optical media. Maybe if they offered a machine that would destroy the original UMD after giving out a PSN redeemable code, but there is no way for Sony to simply "deactivate" an optical disc temporarily.

Double Fusion slows down WipEout HD with ads

Aug 3rd 2009 4:52PM (Joystiq)
I noticed this the other day when doing split-screen with a friend. Not only did I pay for Wipeout HD, but I also paid for the Fury expansion and I am being forced to wait longer to watch an ad from an insurance company I have no interest in becoming a customer of. Since there is now ad revenue coming in, perhaps Sony / Studio Liverpool can refund me the purchase price for Wipeout HD and Fury?

Alan Wake may scare up 360 first, PC later

In an interview way back, a rep. from Remedy said they weren't planning on supporting DirectX 10, despite the game was going to be Vista only.(now Vista and Windows 7)

Rumor: PSP2 powered by Imagination Technology 'Hydra' chip

@ Kdiggy
The Wii has 88MB of RAM + the 3MB of eDRAM. The PSP2000 and up have 64MB of RAM with 4MB of DRAM however only 32MB of it can actually be used by games, otherwise PSP1000 users who only have 32MB of system RAM would be S.O.L. with games designed for the newer PSPs. The Wii is definitely more powerful than the PSP, but the PSP is still pretty bitchin' for a hand held.

"will allow for 133 million polygons per second and a fillrate of 4Gpixels per second"? So it'll have vertex performance in line with the original Xbox, but a pixel fillrate that is equal to the Xbox 360?

Interview: Valve's Doug Lombardi

The PC version of Left 4 Dead supports split-screen via a console command. The second player has to use an Xbox 360 controller, but the game looks and runs better on the PC in Split-screen than it does on the 360 version. Also, I can run it in REAL 1080p with 4xAA on my HDTV.

SIGGRAPH 2009 panel to focus on Fight Night Round 4, Gears of War 2 graphics

Jun 26th 2009 11:08AM (Joystiq)
Yeah, I'm both surprised there was no mention of THAT game at SIGGRAPH, and that no one has said anything about it here either.
