PSA: New PSN game sharing restrictions in effect

Nov 18th 2011 2:25PM (Joystiq)
Talk about kicking themselves in the foot. Sony seem to be doing everything to push their customers away from digital content. I can share my physical copies so why is it so outrageous to share digital content? If digital content is going to be so restricted it needs to be reflected in the pricing and at the moment it's not.

If people are sharing games that also means they're paying for games. This doesn't have anything to do with piracy it's an assault on the rights of paying customers.

I think you'll find people did 'raise hell' in all those instances. There's a reason Joystiq didn't cover them stories.

I mean a genuine apology not the 'I'm sorry but it's not our fault' ones we've been getting so far.

@PointlessPuppies

So protecting our personal information wasn't a priority for Sony? That's some skewed logic. Is making anti-piracy patches a larger priority than network security? Maybe to a Sony shareholder but I'm not a Sony shareholder I'm a customer.

There may be no perfect network but there are bad networks.

Do you work for Sony PR? Minor exploit? I wouldn't consider an exploit allowing everyones personal info to be stolen minor.

Because they have a duty to protect the interests of their customers?

How is blaming the hackers productive?

This isn't a new revelation that hackers target personal and credit information. Did you think beforehand that hackers were all just good samaritans that made your PSP play free games and homebrew or something? It's up to Sony to prevent this from happening.
