Well, considering the story is set before the first book, it makes sense that dragons are in it. Now, is the title somewhat misleading? Yes and no. Genesis implies beginning, while Game of Thrones implies the first book. To make sure they can reach the largest audience possible with this game, they chose "Game of Thrones" no thanks to the recent HBO TV show and the growing popularity of the series.
Personally, I am looking forward to this, I think an interactive way of viewing the prologue to A Song of Ice and Fire as a whole will be fun. The game will probably turn out to be highly mediocre in scores, but I am willing to look past a lot of that because I really enjoyed the books and TV series and having the opportunity to play out the origins will be cool.
I have a dead 360 on my shelf. Don't know why I saved it. It isn't red ringed either. Video card died out of warranty. I guess if I want a $100 refurbished Xbox, I'll have that one sent in.
@mumblyjoe From the UK? It depends on how much of a fan you are. I live in the US, and I still paid about $800 for the Hilton, my ticket, and my flight. So really, the goody bag didn't make up the cost. The experience though, worth every bit of the money I paid for. So it comes down to it, if you have the money, do you want to experience it?
@Wildside My thoughts: - Battle.net 2.0 updates, features, etc. (mainly on how it affects SC2 and D3) - I think Titan will wait at least one more year - Heart of the Swarm cinematic shown with possible release window - Diablo 3 beta info with more defined release window (Summer 2012?) - WoW: Cataclysm, previewing new raid(s), no new expansion for at least another year, maybe 2, gotta realize that Cataclysm changed the entire game (basically) - And I already commented on the WoW movie
Anyways, I agree with these predictions for the most part. I believe Blizzard wants Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 off their plates before giving info on Titan, meaning, D3 would be released and SC2: HotS has a date or is already out. :D
@Wildside Well, they already confirmed Sam Raimi would be doing it, but he said he wants it to be perfect, and yet he is working on other movies. So, maybe a new director, or no movie?
Why no EDIT button? :( I forgot to mention. I don't know if this was intentional or not, but hit detection seems almost non-existent. I don't know if they are aiming for a realism factor or not, but it is something that I feel should be included in some form or fashion, but it isn't.
Granted I have not downloaded the second phase of the beta, my opinions are purely based off phase 1 of the beta. I did not like it at all. It took very long to get into a match. The visuals are very bland just as the screenshots here are showing. The customization is just so-so and the gameplay is quite boring. One thing I do praise this game for is the environment. Each mulitplayer map will have some environmental change to it in some way. For example, as a screenshot is showing, a dust storm can ravage the entire screen, making sniping impossible and any sort of distance firefight difficult. Overall, it feels like this game wants to be like SOCOM and it just comes up short. Hopefully the single-player will offer a much better experience, or even the retail release at that. This game needs many more testers and it needs a miracle in my eyes for it to be worth buying on day one.
Yea, I am probably fitting in with the majority when I say Symphony of the Night. I have to say though, I have enjoyed every single game except the most recent Wii one to come out, that was terribad.
Bethesda tempted by A Game of Thrones adaptation
