All of your comments are right just about but the thing is no matter how many people bungie bans cheating will NEVER stop, and countless people that i know personally have been banned without cheating, they were using mods but they were only skins like instead of purple banshees the heretic banshee or playing as the arbiter in mp i was banned like this too for having the heretic banshee, i had no cheating mods and was a level 23 legit. If bungie cared about their customers, supporters and fans youd think they would find a way to deteck what files have been manipulated like detecting if it was a texture being modified instead of say a jump height variable. in my personal opinion bungie really doesnt care about their fans all they care about is their money from selling millions of copies of h2 and h3. Halo2 will end up like Halo PC as soon as H3 comes out, cheating will run rampant through Halo2 and bungie will care too much about Halo3 to do anything about the problems with Halo2. i still play halo pc and i see people modding every day and bungie hasnt done anything to stop it because they only care about halo2 at this point. Also about why people cheat most of the time its not because they want a higher rank its more because when your immature ticking people off is alot of fun, when you were little didnt you enjoy annoying the heck out of friends and family and find their reactions funny? thats the real reason people cheat is simply because they think its fun. as far as cheating on XBC goes if you get a modder in your game simply kick him out or if the host is a modder simply leave the game and find another. i know some people may not agree with what ive said but everyone is entitled to their opinions
