Breakfast Topic: Pick a faction, any faction...

Why is everyone acting like being an elitist human in game is a bad thing? Some people play to be noble, some of us don't. How else to justify being a human 'lock?

I've played both sides and the only "evil" races are Forsaken and Humans. Which makes sense given their shared history.

You're really not helping your case, this is exactly what guilds are trying to avoid.

Communication skills are an absolute necessity, especially in raids.

The joy of grinding

I completely agree. I recently rolled a Belf Lock on a new server because I was fed up with the stagnation of my priest. My server's economy is whacked beyond repair. Second-level goods are always in high demand: wool cloth, tin ore, medium leather. Tin goes for almost 2g a piece, Wool is 8-10g a stack and leather varies from 7-15g. Meanwhile, in the new guild I joined, our leader is level40-something and only has one profession: enchanting level 70.

I just hit level 30 on this alt and my tailoring is 174, enchanting 127, cooking 93, first aid 50, fishing 1 (okay, i don't fish but it can easily be remedied). I don't know where this influx of players who don't level professions is coming from but it's starting to get absurd. Even standard user-made trade goods are in short supply. It took me three days to find a silver rod because every blacksmith and miner couldn't smelt tin.

Totally misread that as "alcoholic."

Though I agree, I think lvls 1-20 are the best designed in the game. The story is rich and ties together, but after that the games just goes "meh."

The first time I learned all about Defias was exciting. I wanted to know what happened. I was playing for the story...

After awhile the game turns to "Kill 5 of these, i don't care why."

Wouldn't PAX be a better venue for the "core" gamer?

Wii third-parties nonplussed by surprise MotionPlus reveal

For clarification's sake, I'll admit that I own both a Wii and a 360.

For the Wii, I only own a handful of games. Almost of them are first-party. Zack and Wiki is the only original game that ISN'T. Most publisher's have ignored the Wii and this is completely in Nintendo's right to say "hey, you guys can't use this." It's not like Nintendo is saying "you can't use any other devices or attachments." Very few games have made the Wiimote worthwhile, do you honestly think giving them ANOTHER piece will suddenly allow Capcom or EA to suddenly make some great game? They've got the Wiimote, nunchuck and balance board and yet, nothing has been released that really works.

Nintendo consistently makes fantastic games, when they aren't so tied up in their own gimmicks. Smash Bros and Mario Kart allow for multiple control schemes are work very well. Even for the DS, some of the best games don't make use of the touch screen almost at all. New Super Mario Bros, anyone?

Yes, we all want new games for the Wii. But in two years, we've already gotten most of the staples: Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Smash, Kart.

I'm not defending Nintendo with regards to their E3 performance, it was beyond abysmal. However, E3 has sucked for a long time, maybe Nintendo will make it up to us at PAX.

I find myself whelmed by this situation.
