How to transfer game saves between iOS devices, without iTunes, and without jailbreaking

Mar 22nd 2011 5:50AM (TUAW.com)
You can do the same thing with Macroplant's own iPhone Explorer, which is freeware for both Windows and Mac (http://www.macroplant.com/iphoneexplorer/). It'll work with any iOS device, including the iPad, not just the iPhone.

I've used it a couple of times, and while this kind of method takes a little while if you've got loads of games, probably faster than playing though them all again.

Xmarks bookmark syncing service calls it quits

Sep 28th 2010 11:37AM (Download Squad)
I must admit I'm really sad about this. I used it to sync bookmarks across 3 different computers, two different operating systems, 4 different browsers and two iOS devices. I would have paid for it to be honest.

Now I've got to trawl around and see if I can figure out a system to replicate what Xmarks could do. Not hopeful at the moment, it's certainly not obvious.

MasterPad prototype marries Windows 7 to 11.6-inch IPS screen (video)

@Ducman69 Indeed, it was rather more a dig at Flash. I do hate Flash with a passion, it kills my netbook and my MacBook Pro alike, without good reason.

@Kiwipoweredkiwi that's if the device doesn't melt first

Blimey, 5 hours of battery life off a 2 cell with an Atom CPU, that's impressive stuff if they manage it.

Forever White Headset plays music to your ears while bleaching your teeth

Really? I mean, come on, if it's that important to have white teeth, surely you can just use your own earphones?

Bill Gates: Microsoft pursuing 'a lot of' tablet projects, pen-based input will be 'mainstream for students'

May 4th 2010 5:34AM (Engadget)
@Shatter I agree, both would be ideal. But I have to say most command motions and input other than drawing is best served by finger input IMHO.

It would be particularly good if they could fit what Wacom managed with the Touch and Pen tablet over a portable device screen. Pen with pressure sensitivity when you need it and finger input for the rest of the time, and I'm not talking about resistive here.

Spotify finally becomes the social music player you've always dreamt of

Indeed, certainly better than Pompey, but I guess one could say I'm a tad biased.

Anyway, great update to an already impressive streaming music service. I just hope it can make it's way into a long-term stable financial position.

Yeah, yeah, Sebastian, we all know you're a massive Craig David fan. There's no shame in admitting it. He hails from my home town in fact. So that can't be bad right?

Steam for Mac: Uses OpenGL, Intel-only, 10.5 or higher

Wohoo! Finally be able to play that Half-Life 2 I bought a played on a PC about 5 years ago again after switching. Excellent. Now if only I could remember my Steam login.
