Games these days rely more on in game atmosphere than musical ambience. It's really about repetition and the volume of the music over the other sounds. Music in older games were in your face and looped.

There is a reason that they start the video out with a colorful screen and Mario Galaxy 2 text without any revealing images. I love you guys and all, but you gotta watch what you spoil with your headliners. Anyways, I'm just beating a dead horse, now.

I can only imagine that if I were to have unknowingly stumbled upon this level mid-game, I would have have had an N-gazm unlike anything I've had since they put Ness in the original Smash Bros.
