I bought a PS2 component cable from EB for $15.

Maybe Nintendo thinks that mature doesn't necessarily equal blood/guts/swearing/sex? I think that a lot of people that are truly mature would agree.

I'm a fan GTA style games, but I think many true "grown ups" are not. I would say that the vast majority of folks that play "mature" games are well under the age the ESRB recommends.

Nintendo is going for a different demo, and based on the sales figures that was the right move. Like it or not, they are going to be the dominant player this round.

Sorry, but when I look at that graphic I doubt many fanboys/hardcore-gamers look anything like that on the inside.

I'm thinking something much much much more pear shaped would have been more appropriate. ;-)

Bro, its extremely easy to calibrate an HDTV, takes like 5 minutes. The reason your SD tv works "out of the box" is because its incapable of the color and contrast range that HD has.

BTW, tube tvs can be HD as will as LCD.

Microsoft has extended the warranties, true, but they can't keep extending them indefinitely.

Everybody assumes the smaller chips will solve all these problems, but we don't know for sure.

If/when the problems are solved, will MS effectively replace everyones Xbox with the new smaller chips?

At some point in this consoles life cycle, a ton of people will be SOL, or MS will be out ALOT of money; if the latter is the case, forget any delusions of hardware profits this round.

Maybe because the new consoles cost a ton more then the PS2? Some day you'll have to look at prices when your mommy stops buying everything you cry for.
