Sony's High Velocity Bowling started 'literally right before' Nintendo announced Wii Sports' Bowling

May 22nd 2007 3:30PM (Joystiq)
I think it comes down to the controller. I saw my Grandma hold the Wii-mote with no problem. She's held a remote before. Trying to teach her how to properly hold the SIXAXIS for bowling would be a 10-minute process. Also, it seems really easy (as I'm imagining it in my head) that it would be easy to hit buttons accidentally (particularly the PS button).

It doesn't really matter that Sony thinks they thought of it first. Nintendo employed the idea first and the Wii is currently selling like hotcakes as a result. Now, do you think that High Velocity would sell a PS3?

Mor epower to Sony for trying to make a better Wii Sports, but I think the new Brunswick Bowling for Wii will add all the extra features that users of Wii Sports Bowling are wanting. Same with Tennis, Golf, etc. WiiSports is meant to market the console, and it's doing it beautifully. Can't argue with sales numbers.

Wii Warm Up: Friend or foe?

May 10th 2007 2:06PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I'm married too, and my wife and I have had a hard time finding games she likes that are co-op. Most women aren't into hardcore FPSers, and I don't like them either. LEGO Star Wars I & II have been great fun with her, and we just got Guitar Hero, but we need more games like the few that were found in Wario Ware Smooth Moves to really keep us interested in a game. They need to make a co-op or party version of Wario Ware. Anyway, we also like trading off in games, but that can get old because I've been gaming for years and can beat things faster than she can. Then she complains that, when we trade off, her turn is just a waste of time because we just have to replay it when she plays. Don't get me wrong, she's good at the vids, but it can get hairy at times while trading off (you guys remember waiting for your sibling to die as Mario so you could play as Luigi?).

Could Super Paper Mario have DS functionality? [update 1]

Apr 11th 2007 12:12PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
If this was fact it would have been broadcast everywhere. At any rate, it's fun to collect the little DS carts that have recipes on them in the game. They're well-hidden!

Good luck to them! I'm almost done with it myself. I'm entering chapter 6. Great game!
