@ OTAM: Mc Donald’s has a bigger menu Ruth Chirs' Steak House but that doesn't mean it has better food...just more of it. The greatness of fighting games doesn't come from the number of moves it has but in the speed and preciseness of the game play. The level of skill it takes to truly be great at a 2D fighter is much higher than that of a 3D fighter. Look at it this way, most people I know who are good at 2D fighters can pick up any 3D game and rock with all but the very best players but people who only play 3D games have little or no skill in 2D fighting games.
If you think every new numbered Street Fighter is the same thing with a new coat of paint then you have no idea what you're talking about. Look at Street Fighter compared to Street Fighter 2 compared to Street Fighter 3 all three of those games are completely different in game play and design. Now when you talk about all the sub headings of those Street Fighters then they can be considered new coats of paint but really they are attempts at refining and balancing the game play of those games to near perfection.
Street Fighter is not Virtual Fighter stop comparing the two. For the record Street Fighter 3 is a very "intricate" game if you have ever seen a truly great match you would know that.
Thank goodness...now maybe we can get some advancement in the gameplay department...EA was starting to get lazy with no competition to spark that creativity.
A lot of people seem to have a hard time understanding why people feel this add is racist, trying to explain it to them is pointless because the people who constantly claim this advertisement isn't racist will always bring up points and counter points as to why it isn't. Lets take this out of the "black, white and American" world for a second (btw if you think racism doesn't exists in Europe then you don't keep up with soccer much.) What if the ad featured a German gripping a Jewish person with the words "Taking out the competition." scrolled along side it or some other slogan. Would people be so quick to say, ahhh its not racist it's just an add? Are Black people in America sensitive about issues of race...yes, and rightfully so. Racism is alive and well in the States (as it is in the rest of the world) it just isn't socially acceptable to be a racist, that doesn't stop people who are racist from being racist or passing those racist beliefs onto their offspring.
Ohhh, and for all the people who think racism doesn't exist in Europe, what happened in France where a high ranking official called the Muslims that lived in the slums "Scum" and something to the effect that they needed to be exterminated (not sure of his exact statement.)
Ohhh, one last thing, just because an ad campaign is targeted for a specific region doesn't mean it won't effect others. This is a completely different world than our parents...the Globalization of our society is almost complete. Sony knows this and it was bad taste (to say the least) to run an ad that is obviously very controversial just because they think it won't reach other markets.
