@Maleboligia: Well, as far as I can tell, the US doesn't demand companies to comply with moral requirements. They just use the media to force the hand of said companies. Company X supports child pornography. That would most likely cause them to comply, I don't know how they handle security requirements though.

@IMarius: Lol, RIM wouldn't go bankrupt. RIM doesn't "need" the services of these countries. It would most definitely hurt their bottomline; however, it is not enough to bankrupt the company.

@huh: it has more to do with setting a minimum standard for Android. Google is using their apps and the Market as leverage to force manufacturers to attain a certain standard.

@scoobydooby: Apple still wins regardless of whether majority of iPhone4 owners previously owned an iPhone. AT&T on the other hand, not so much. It helps them with retention though. On the subject of Android, I agree that had the iPhone been released on all carrier, Android wouldn't be doing as well; however, I don't know if it would have changed the eventual outcome.
