D3 Publisher pings 3DS with 'Dream Trigger'

Dec 15th 2010 10:16AM (Joystiq)
Echo chamber much? This SO sounds like the slop coughed up on PR Newswire earlier on today. Phrases like "dynamic multi-track musical score" and "an unparalleled immersive experience" gives off the impression that the copywriter was really motivated by this inspired title; I think I even spotted the word 'Stellar' on my copy of the press release.

Ha!

Report: Namco Bandai laying off 90 in States

Nov 2nd 2010 12:37PM (Joystiq)
It seems like just yesterday that Namco proudly announced that, like the rest of Japan, the future rested upon teh shoulders of Western developers. So why the big u-turn? Why recoil back towards the bussom of the apathetic domestic audience? You know, just keep pumping out more Naruto crap, atrophy, and die already.

Intellivision Lives! comes back from the dead this September

Yes, having any warez on a Nintendo-online service is tantamount to banishment, or a type of purgatory where non-existence is the endless toil.

So it's basically dead, is what I'm saying.

Review: Super Mario Galaxy 2

May 21st 2010 11:37AM (Joystiq)
Yeah, this game will probably be good; great, even. But I do hope that the game is less formulaic. I lack the vocabulary | energy to fully elaborate on this concern, but at times the original felt overly focus tested. The developers seemed to give way to the demands of some vaguely describable “demographic” rather than go all out with making the best platformer they could imagine. Or maybe my concerns aren’t concerns at all; I mean, what I see are ethereal problems. I don’t know.

One thing I do know: the music is still on that orchestral bent, so it’ll be “high” dirge for sure. Beautiful bleeps and bloops replaced by “black boot” walls of sound; however did we reach such a terrible conclusion.

It breaks my heart to see Platinum Games being reduced to churning out “content” like Vanquish; it looks so far flung from what a Clover game is supposed to be about. Maybe the name is supposed to be some-sort of ironic, an easter egg epitaph; here lies the Vanquished spirit of creativity and ambition.

MySims Sky Heroes flying to DS, Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3 this fall [update]

May 5th 2010 11:25AM (Joystiq)
That’s the fifth MySims game this generation; that’s more than one a year. It must be selling rather well, but, by George, EA are churning out these (identikit) games by the bucketload.

This Week on the Nintendo Channel: The new black Wii

1) Cool evidence, bro.

2) Lacklustre support for thinly thought out ideas is the main problem here. Whereas every single game for the Xbox has online communication enabled for all video games, this being built in through its superior networking infrastructure, the Wii has Wii Speak which around a handful of games support. There’s no point vomiting nonsense like "Here's WiiSpeak so you can talk during online games" if only a miserly amount of games support it. Let’s Wii Speak through PES or Capcom Verses. Let’ see how far we get.

Ditto for motion control plus, the zapper, the balance board, and any other crappy plastic I've forgotten about.

3) Yes.
