Japan's Xbox Live stats indicate proneness to Japanese-developed games

Well, of course you'd say that, seeing as you and your multiple online personas aren't really helping the situation.

Who's policing the comment section? Is it not Gilbert and his glorious hammer? Why isn’t he dealing with the noise that is crowding out genuine conversation? Is it slackness or apathy?

The nudity in Fahrenheit was so out of place, so forced, it was embarrassing. You can tell these gentlemen developers were French, therefore superficial; how to explain a pair of nondescript tits and a bad sex mini game just popping up from anywhere. It was like watching late night Canal+, but without the pretense intelligence; there was no demur.

I fear for this game. Nothing positive is emanating from the crumbs of information that Sony are discarding for the pigeons. It looks like Fahrenheit all over again, maybe even Omikron; the next, and inevitable stage, is wholesale disappointment.

"Castlevania Judgment, Mortal Kombat Armageddon, a couple Dragonball Z games, a couple 'more' Naruto games"

If we’re naming crap, I can’t believe you forgot that TMNT game, aka Inferior Smash Bros.

It’s all well and good tolerating the many moments of idiocy that this website has become for now, but when page hits slowly start to plummet don’t be surprised when the AOL Titanic decide that a couple bloggers aren’t really worth a damn. And that’s a shame because for a long minute, I really liked this website.

Canadian Boxing Week Video Game Sales Hub

"I still think every month should have at least one major holiday that is no less than one month before or after another major holiday."

Amongst the emptier individuals of consumer society, the constant need for spectacle aches at the base of their soul; without question, spectacle, no matter how empty, is what life is made of. For these poor men (a wonderful idea once you consider the vast amounts of capital accumulated in comparison to darker parts of the world) even something as dreary as the administration of days, weeks, and months must be incorporated into some sort of communal spendathon; for this, my friends, is obviously the only way to keep in touch of the various days, weeks, and months of the year.

The spectacle is glorious, the spectacle is true; the spectacle was made for me, and certainly for you. Representation has no correlation to meaning, just as long as something is happening, just as long as months can be ‘organized’ (with a Z) in conjunction with ‘holidays’ so one can celebrate ‘something’ then it will all be okay. Everything will be okay if we can have ‘holidays’ to celebrate ‘something’; meaning comes later: Thus Spoke Sonicspike41.

UK retailers confident in strong 2010 games sales

There is no blog to report of unfortunately, or fortunately if you are so inclined. A blog breaths on a regular flow of updates and I don't have the dedication to devote time for the required ink to paper, or finger to keyboard. Only at work am I idle enough, but I'm at work, so, yeah.

Anway, Google: Guardian, Charlie Brooker; or Guardian, Marina Hyde.

The former writes about games occasionally, the latter is very clever doll. Reading a few columns by that pair is always a good way to waste away a lazy weekend afternoon.

UK retailers confident in strong 2010 games sales

There's no diversity in the market anymore. As the big box stores (Tesco, the other supermarkets) slowly increase their grip on the expanded vidya games territory, the traditional game stores and smaller independent retailers face a conundrum. How ever are they to maintain turnover, especially with our current economic woes? Without apt thought, we could steal the mantle of ‘broken man of Europe’ from the Greeks, the Irish, or the Spanish. How to avoid this fate if your business is games? Well, the answer is clear: focus all energies on sure sellers.

New Super Mario Bros Wii is a sure seller. Duty to Call: Combat Warfare is a sure seller. Muramasa isn't, so that means shelf space isn't guaranteed. Finding a copy of that fail copy of King of Fighters is nearly impossible. Or maybe my poor eyesight is blinded by all the electabuzz from the latest Acivision plastic cash-in.

Games seem to be regressing from the glory days of 1999-2003, and all bets are hedged on safe bets and safe bets only. You can see this with all the vulgar thrusting a Game employee is forced to employ just to get your interest peaked in whatever sports game EA are trying to shill. Anything unique is ostracised, and everything vaguely foreign, aka Japanese, is designated to an obnoxious backend with all the PC games, circa 1999. If it’s not Nintendo or a Capcom mainstay, then you have no chance of getting decent shelf space. To see great games like Space Invaders Extreme 2 coddled together in a dusty corner with used copies of Theme Hospital is a travesty.

This survey is nothing more than empty bravado and MVC is a known to be a tawdry rag that nobody considers a useful source. With debt increasing ever further, the recession deepening, and the public suffering because of it, to say you can be positive about 2010, in terms of vidya games sales and what games are, in fact, produced, is nothing more than wishful thinking. Some would go further and suggest such claims are naïve, while others would even tip the hat into stupidity.
