@Dunraven I think it's a lot more inspired than Cataclysm. In TBC you went to an alien world, in Wrath you went into an undead-infested ice continent, but Cata was cobbled out of a bunch of tropes (giant tree! underwater zone! massive indiana jones reference! underground!) and it ended up feeling very disjointed.
Modern Warfare 3 sure is getting a lot of content. I can't speak to whether it's any good or not, but I have to admit I'm a little disappointed with Battlefield 3's post-launch support.
We here at Capcom know our fans well. That's why we put the DLC right there on the disc. Other developers make you 'DOWNLOAD' it. Did you know that all downloading occurs via the internet? The internet is a dangerous place. Who knows what could happen to the DLC characters you paid for as they float haphazardly across the world wide web on their way to your console? They could pick up a virus, or be hacked and defaced by Anonymous, or bump into stuff and lose some of their firewall megabits.
Capcom fans want quality content, and nothing says quality like DLC that instantaneously teleports into your game from the game disc that you're running the game off of. Capcom: The future of gaming today!
@EIranzer I don't think that's quite the same thing, as most Final Fantasy games (with the exception of X/X-2 and XIII/XIII-2) are all stand-alone stories, while Assassin's Creed has a core storyline involving Desmond and the Animus that spans every game in the series. :)
@ployer Yup! You understood the article correctly. My comment was addressing the fact that many Wii U purchasers will have only had a Wii during this generation and thus will be jumping into Assassin's Creed with the fifth game in the series.
Interesting news. I bet there are loads of people who only have a Wii and have never played an Assassin's Creed game, though. Kind of sucks that they'll be jumping in on the fifth game.
I love Valve for being one of the few remaining developers who release proper PC versions of their games, instead of consolized versions that still ask you to "press start" on the title screen.
