Aug 25th 2010 8:48PM (WoW)Blizzard picks up addons all the time to integrate, infact I've found that they seem to integrate every handy addon I use, not surprising really considering the size of the playerbase, but it has proved a humorous joke when reading patch notes for me.

Jul 17th 2010 9:10PM (WoW)I'm worried though about this tendency I'm seeing in bloggers and forum posters to take issue with "raiders" having to take "pvp" talents.
I have a hard time following the logic of referring to having extra talent points to spend on unique and (ideally) fun talents as being "forced" to take "pvp" talents.
you would rather the trees be as they are now, where you as a mage are in a real sense forced to spend absolutely every talent point on passive stat and damage bonuses.
currently we gush at length about ever little spell interaction, mechanic and proc. wouldn't the game be more varied and thus more fun if every mage spec had more active abilities with unique applications?

is a shaman question, not a warlock question.
Cataclysm Beta: Mage talents and specializations
Jul 15th 2010 4:11PM (WoW)Hasn't blizzard said stats like Haste and Crit have crept higher than they wanted in wrath; meaning Shatter in this state could very well prove to be a slight nerf at the level cap,and it'll certainly be a huge nerf to any leveling mage, since, in order to get the same +50% benefit it has now the mage will have to have at least 17% crit chance, which no mage would even begin to approach until somewhere near the late 60s, early 70s.
Cataclysm Beta: Mage talents and specializations
Jul 15th 2010 4:08PM (WoW)The ideal is that we'll get all the boring damage crap we need passively, and you'll only ever pick between situationally handy, useful and or fun talents. now obviously they likely won't reach that lofty goal, but movement in that direction is a good thing.
The problem with these trees isn't the talents, it's the perception of what makes a good talent. The world (of warcraft) isn't separated into damage talents and bad talents; the damage talents are almost always the boring ones, because mandatory talents aren't really choices at all, and it is because of that that blizzard is 'forcing' you to pick up utility talents.
I for one look forward to being able to grab more of the talents that are fun, without having to worry about making sure I've grabbed every boring five point talent that gives me a 2% passive damage bonus.
