Toy Story 3 Hybrid Premium Edition contains PS3 game and original movie

Aug 16th 2010 2:55PM (Joystiq)
Interesting, but I'll be impressed when the "hybrid" game disc means the game system can render the movie in real time. It will just be a matter of processing horsepower and software.

At that point it won't matter what resolution my display is, and upgrading the media (DVD>Blu-Ray>whatever) will be pointless.

Retired NFL players sue EA over likenesses in Madden 09

@theangryheretic An understandable point. But then you have to ponder over how far away do those statistics have to be before they become not 'you.'

For an example, lets say that I am number 3, I play for team 3, I have 3 touchdowns this season, and I have 3 field goals (in reality). Now, would I own the rights over a virtual character who has the statistics of 4/3/3/3 (in order)? What about 4/5/3/3? What about 3/3/4/4? 3/2/3/4? Obviously these aren't real statistics, but hopefully you're getting my point.

I think EA blows too, but there has to be some point where they can mimic what they don't own the rights to. Just like ALL industries are capable of doing.

Obviously made for girls who probably don't play games in the first place, placing young boys as the enemy and the only real way to win will be for them to say "NO!"

Either that or give them a BFG9000... you know, a BoyFriendGun9000? AH HA HA HA, I kill me!

HP's Rahul Sood says Microsoft killed Xbox vs PC online gaming due to keyboard-mouse superiority

Ok. Without going into M/KB or controller fanboyisms, isn't this what Microsoft initially wanted with the Xbox? Essentially just a cheap, gaming PC made to enable PCs to play against consoles and vice versa?

Let the players decide what they want to use. Seriously, just throw in a filter for the gamers who only want to play against similarly controlled players and there you go, problem solved. I don't care if one type of controller is more accurate than the other, that's for the gamers to decide, adapt to, and eventually evolve from.

I suspect that Microsoft has a hold on the controller style so they can sell more controllers. But why shouldn't they allow KB/M and encourage gamers to use an XBox 360 as their primary gaming PC (like, at a desk)? From a business perspective, I think that would increase Xbox sales (maybe >1 per household) and increase the types of games they could sell per Xbox.

Just my $.02

Actually, I could see the cruise ship idea working. Power on the ship goes out, stuck in the middle of the ocean, and limiting the number of flares he could find on a cruise ship wouldn't be hard.
