Etrian Odyssey IV coming to the 3DS in Japan, classes detailed

Feb 28th 2012 6:32AM (Joystiq)
@Anarqi

It doesn't play the same as most JRPGs -- It's more of a first-person party-based dungeon exploration RPG with turn based combat mechanics (similar to Wizardry, classic Might and Magic games, the Dark Spire, and Class of Heroes) -- but I love it BECAUSE of this. Easily one of my favorite types of game, and the first three Etrian Odyssey games are among my favorite DS games.

On second thought, drop the "DS" from that last sentence.

I do not understand this comment. If someone said "it needs to come to the EU!" I would not assume he meant exclusively for EU. I'd think that he was talking about his own region, because he wanted the game. Not that he was making some sort of statement that only his region matters.

Capcom Europe: Mega Man Legends 3 canceled due to lack of Devroom participation

@DevilSei

I know they had a community, and I didn't mean to imply that it was a waste. I just doubt that it represented most of the people who would have bought this game. I know several people who were waiting for the release of this game who didn't even know about the devroom - one of them doesn't even have a PC.

Capcom Europe: Mega Man Legends 3 canceled due to lack of Devroom participation

@darkinchworm

This.
I didn't even look at the devroom. It felt like it was just marketing, and I didn't care. I've got other games I'm playing at the moment, and I felt I didn't have amazing ideas to contribute to the game. Figured I'd let other people handle it.

This wasn't going to be an online game, as far as I knew. Why would I bother to communicate with other people about it? I've got MMOs for that. What other single player game requires online participation (on a platform different than the one it was going to release on, even) just to be able to PLAY it?

I would have bought it day one, were it actually released. This seems like a really silly way to gauge interest. Maybe even just another excuse from Capcom. Why not shift blame to the consumer? Oh, right... because we were told the prototype was how they were going to gauge interest. Not some devroom most people (well, at least I didn't) care about. Oops.

The Mog Log: Blackout

I was recently linked a post that describes how power is produced at these nuclear plants, what sort of safety measures they have in place, and why something like Chernobyl wouldn't happen again. It was quite informative. I would recommend it for anybody who might be uneasy about what's going on at these plants right now, or even anybody who has an interest in how stuff works.

http://mitnse.com/2011/03/13/modified-version-of-original-post/

Even if the plants do meltdown, there is still containment in place to prevent environmental disaster. The media just needs to make a big deal out of everything. "Explosion at nuclear plant, meltdown possible!" gets more hits than "Everything fine at nuclear plant."
