Creep out other commuters: Kinectimals adds iOS to its mobile roster

Dec 13th 2011 4:34PM (Joystiq)
@xFenixKnightx

There are some out there that think this hurts WP7, and I've even seen some say it makes them want to leave the Windows Phone platform when they see Microsoft releasing things on other platforms.

I don't think it hurts WP7 though. Games released to iOS don't have achievements, and all of the other apps (aside from photosynth) are already integrated into the WP7 experience.

I personally don't think that a few games or apps detracts from Windows Phone. The whole experience/ecosystem is the reason to own a Windows Phone, not a handful of exclusive apps/games.

Microsoft launches 'My Xbox Live' on iOS App Store

I don't see how this is such a bad thing. The features it adds are all things they could have done through the web interface of xbox.com.
This just makes it a little easier on them.

I think the two examples you just gave are great examples of how WP7 is still better for xbox integration. The companion app is great, and achievements are a huge deal.

Xbox is integrated into Windows Phone, and will only continue to get integrated at even deeper levels (when game invites and online play is fully implemented, for example). This app is a convenience, but not something that detracts from what will always be a superior WP7 XBL integration.

@javaone I think one difference is viewing distance. Even if the dpi is somewhere in he range of a laptop, you'll be viewing it from half the distance, so pixelation will be more noticeable.

I I agree completely. The original look made sense, and felt industrial, this looks like stylized armor, and yeah, like guyver, strong anime vibe. Not liking it at all.

This could be them trying to push the current inventory out the door to make way for the slim. I seem to remember Microsoft doing the same thing a few times as they released newer models of the 360. I don't expect this to last for long. If it does though, I think things will be looking up for Sony (and I may finally get a PS3).

He was actually in Halo 3 as an extra. As I recall, that game didn't do too bad for itself.

I think giving away more free stuff like this would be agreat way to kick-start the economy. Or... at very least make me happier.

Oh wow, they completely changed the book. I'm very disappointed with that movie trailer. This was my favorite book as a kid.
