Watch it, that level of crazy is contagious and probably sexually transmitted.

Clearly it's time for me to play through Arkham Asylum again.

Generally speaking, kicking an enemy into an electric fence would kill them. So Batman's killing people now?

@TheCodeNinja

I found the official 'rules' for the promo, and it ends on August 23rd. That answers that question.

@Snowblind

I seem to remember the promotion last year going until the end of September, despite Lara Croft being released the last week of August. That's what makes me at all hopeful, but I still doubt that MS is that generous.

I've been looking forward to this game since it was announced; it was some of the fuel that drove me to buy a Kinect.

My question, however, is with Fruit Ninja coming in this, how will that affect the Summer of Arcade bonus? I get the feeling MS wouldn't be nice and equate the download code with a purchase, but I can dream, right?

It's been a while since I last bought a game for my DS. It'll be nice to do that again. This is really looking awesome.

@Dance Mofo

You can do this, however the results are less than stellar. To get a score multiplier, you have to time your shots with the beat of the original song. This is pretty much impossible with a different song playing (at least on Kinect, the controller's force feedback may be enough to do it).

The other point is that all of the levels are designed around the songs that are on the disc. My (one level of) experience with it is that everything is so out of synch that it really breaks the flow of the game. I also didn't make any real attempt to synch it with the music, there could be interesting results with the right songs.

Rumor: Mass Effect 3 getting 'Better with Kinect'

@The angry pro consumer gaming ga

First of all, there's no way in Heck that the sales came entirely from the casual crowd. Watching the mod community explode like it did when this was released is enough to show that alone; all of those modders did have to buy the system.

Second, do you honestly think that they exist in a vacuum? That all of those mods that everyone here on Joystiq and elsewhere say "Holy crap look at that, that makes me want a Kinect!" are somehow completely ignored by developers? I can almost guarantee two things from that reaction:

(1) Developers see more potential for it than they previously did, and (2) they see the generally positive reaction to a lot of these things, from the hardcore crowd specifically. Count me among the thousands (millions?) of people who are buying/have bought a Kinect specifically to experiment with this sort of thing.

If they confirm Kinect support in XNA (the one thing I'm really hoping for from MS this year at E3), we'll see all of this sort of stuff (and more) going into games. The reason most of this has been on PC is that there's no free SDK for Kinect on 360. Yet.

I'm really wondering how these are going to be charted considering the keyboard. Here's to hoping it's awesome, especially with a bunch of really good songs.

Would have preferred Sin over Sanctified, however.
