Interview: Xbox's Aaron Greenberg on the $300 Elite and all things Xbox

Sep 1st 2009 12:54AM (Joystiq)
I'm glad he reads joystiq... I hope he reads all comments made here and realises what a sheep he is.

Has anyone realised regardless of all the negative feedback people give Microsoft. They always turn around and say "We have many satisfied customers enjoying blah blah blah. I hate that line....its so annoying. I would love to see someone from Microsoft come out and say....

"We are extremely sorry for our low quality hardware. We realise this was a design fault, and we seem to have just worked out the issues. Sorry for the wait, we were too busy worrying about numbers rather than problems".

My view on things......
I hate the ps3 controller, I'm too scared to turn on my xbox360. I'm upgrading my graphics card on my PC....

As a proud Xbox 360 owner for the past 2 years. I can now say the PS3 is definately a more attractive deal.

More power efficient. Wifi, Bluetooth, Bluray, free online play, easy/cheap option of upgrading the internal Hard drive. Only thing missing is a 360 controller(I hate the PS3 controller).

If I red ring again I'm jumping out!

Microsoft will now start going backwards if they don't make their console cheaper and add wifi to their bundles. Regardless of what this guy sais, how many people have a network port in their living room to connect the 360 to anyway? I live in Australia and I don't know anyone who has one behind their TV. But half of them do have a wireless router at home already to use for their laptops.

These people act like they know what customers want. We are all customers here and most will surely agree with me, its not what we want.

Edge: Rage runs at 60fps on 360, 'just 20 to 30fps' on PS3 [update]

20-30fps? is not a gaming experience any gamer will prefer. If you rather not change discs but walk around doing the moonwalk thats up to you.

No way - the cell processor can run at 120fps but they arent familiar with the hardware yet :)

Analyst: PlayStation Motion Controller better for core gamers than Natal

Jun 24th 2009 11:08PM (Joystiq)
"Creutz believes that while Project Natal may have gotten the bulk of E3 coverage, the PlayStation Motion Controller is the better peripheral for hardcore gamers."

I beg to differ. MS had 1 original playable game. 1 older game made playable, and 1 software to show emotion detection with the project natal camera. This all seemed to work flawlessly. However the PS motion camera, seem to be a hit and miss during the demo. This kind of stuff has been shown before with the ps2 so its nothing new on Sonys behalf.

Natal was obviously more mature than the pseye2 by the demonstrations at e3. If you don't agree then you have a favouritism issue which I can't help with. Remember there was 2 games available for people to test the natal camera at e3.

PSeye is a better camera than the original xbox camera, however natal has seemed to hit the sweet spot with better technology behind it.

Sorry but the motion detection for the PS3 seemed to be added into the E3 demonstration by Sony after MS wowed the crowed with Natal to try and bring some attention back to themselves.

By the way, I'm into the motion controller based games and only have a Wii. I will eventually get a Ps3 or x360 depending on which one comes on top with there motion control schemes. So far I'm leaning towards the X360.

Ars discusses rumored Xbox 360 motion sensor

Reality is all gaming consoles take technology ideas from one another and improve it. So lets not start a console war here. For those couch potatoes who don't like being active...thats fine, stick to your controllers. However I would love to have the option of using motion control on my 360. I've always hated the fact Nintendo decided to stick to old gen graphics, but I did love the new control idea. If Microsoft can bring these two together(graphics+motion)....and maybe improve their ridiculous reliability problems with the 360, which I think has finally happened after 4 F#@^en years. They will definitely have a winner!
The PS3 can benefit from an idea like this aswell, however its got that half a$$ed motion control on its controller which will then be kind of a waste????

Year-old religious fighting game angering the religious

Apr 29th 2009 2:29AM (Joystiq)
Karl, I don't know about you. But punching God in the face to me is insulting. Jesus getting knocked out by Buddah is insulting. I respect my creator, this is no way to ease the conflict between religions, thats only an excuse to create such a stupid game.

Year-old religious fighting game angering the religious

Apr 28th 2009 8:33PM (Joystiq)
Hi All,

You see religion to Muslims is personal. You wouldn't want someone swearing at your mum or calling you fat, boney, ugly etc. Would you? No. Well they get offended in the same way when they are made fun of.

Religion to Muslims is not a joke, and it shouldn't be joked about. However the violent fanatics among us give us a bad name. These so called Jihads...or whatever else they call themselves are outside of Islam altogether. Hurting someones feelings in Islam is even forbidden let alone killing.

I'm sure most of you say "But its only a video game".....and your right it is. Remember the outrage when resident evil 5 theme was set in Africa, killing Africans? Same thing.

Scientology episode on south park got banned.....same thing. But when Muslims complain about something that offends them, no one really cares, and all of a sudden it's no big deal.

If you have no belief you would be the last person to understand what I'm trying to say. Maybe once people like you(atheist) die, we can feed them to the alligators to save another living animal from suffering....I'm sure they won't care. Their Atheists remember....once their dead....their dead. Finished.

I'm sure even an atheist would have been offended by my previous comment ...and they don't even believe or have anything to look forward to after death. But if I was to say the same thing about Muslims.....I'm sure there would be alot of smiling faces.

And the smiling person is another just like those jihadians.

3-year Xbox 360 warranty extended to cover E74 errors

Apr 15th 2009 7:58PM (Joystiq)
Thanks Tyler,

I was thinking more on the lines of upgrading my PC.....but thanks for the information. As for the Wii, I experienced the same visuals 7 years ago why would I want to go back to that again?

3-year Xbox 360 warranty extended to cover E74 errors

How long has it been since Xbox 360 came out? Microsoft still can't get things right. I'm an owner of an XBOX and a XBOX 360. But as soon as my 360 dies I'm looking for alternative reliable hardware. This is Bull$#!^, I hate the fact knowing my 360 will eventually die on me.

NO ONE should accept this crap from Microsoft. They should refund everyones money or replace our 360's with something we hope that starts up everytime its turned on.

And please...no one give me this PS3 fanboy crap. Cause I hate the PS3, and its uncomfy ugly controller.
