Hope I don't get the one they use to Display out on the sales floor...

Gamestop shenanigans sell open games as 'new'

So I guess all the new games employees borrow according to their "loan policy" and bring back that are sold as new is okay with everyone here?

Gamestop shenanigans sell open games as 'new'

Everyone here is weighing in on the pro's and cons of gutting a display copy, or buying a game that has been gutted, but does anyone here know that the employees also "borrow" new games for up to 4 days to play them. I worked for Gamestop for 8+ years, and ran an EBGames for almost 2 after that. It was always common practice for Gamestop to allow employees to borrow games, it was part of the benefits of working there. EB used to do it, then stopped for whatever reason, but after the buyout, I mean merger, EBGames started the policy back up again. What does this mean for you the customer? Well that means that any game with the seal broken could have been borrowed once or twice, and played previously for up to a week or more. Yes they can shrink wrap games, and a lot of people aren't going to know the difference, parents especially. Now I know a lot of people are going to defend this, especially if they borrow games, hell, I used to borrow games myself, but it doesn't mean they still aren't selling something used as new and full price. Just thought I'd add that nugget in there, I mean I think this is way worse than buying a game that was "gutted", at least then you know what you're getting, instead of them trying to pull a fast one.

Rumor: EB/Gamestop workers fired if PS3/Wii listed on eBay

I agree with most of the folks here, but I used to run an EBGames for those assholes for awhile, and they wanted you to enforce this with the employees. It's more of a "don't ask, don't tell," kinda thing. If my guys were selling them, I didn't want to know about it, just so the assholes above me couldn't hold anyone accountable. For the record, they do have an email address for most of the employees, and they just cross reference it with the ebay one, not that you can't just have a different email, I know...

28 Days Later: it could've been a video game

No they're still right, although it has all the dressings of a Thanksgving Turkey DInner, it's still Tofurkey! Regardless of how much it runs many parallels with zombie movies, the main point of contention is that there are no zombies in it, it's an "infection" movie. ANd I don't want to hear any crap about a zombie being created because of an infection. If they are eating flesh but are dead, they're zombies. If they aren't dead, they aren't zombies.
