The Joystiq Show - 020: Staff check-in

Jan 13th 2012 6:00PM (Joystiq)
I love hearing that Alexander, Dave and Richard are all back together again in some form! I listened to the X3F podcast religiously from the 7th episode to the last and I've been missing it since it ended more so than any other podcast. The Joystiq Podcast was fine, but not comical at all. I mean, a man needs drop bear talk in his life. It's a necessity.

12 Days of Joyswag: Halo Reach-themed Xbox 360, Halo Anniversary, and Turtle Beach PX5 headset

Dec 24th 2011 2:06PM (Joystiq)
Once I was playing a game and this one guy kept killing me so we started chatting and calling the score out loud just between us, I wrote him and told him that he was my new nemesis once we were done, he wrote back challenging me to another game. Months later and a ton of laughs in the bag, he is now one of my closest Xbox friends. Good moments with random people online can happen but nice random people is like the 1% of gaming it seems.

12 Days of Joyswag: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Collector's Edition (or: free dragons)

Dec 18th 2011 10:17AM (Joystiq)
My friends and family would cease to exist in my eyes...unless they began offering me random quests for real life. Also, I would shout more often while at my office job I think.

Saints Row: The Third pre-orders surpass those of The Second

Nov 4th 2011 7:20PM (Joystiq)
@BoBsS I already have Skyrim, Saints Row the Third, MW3 and Jurassic Park paid off in full...I'm just waiting for them to release. I love all types of games. I figure that I have Skyrim for the experience and sheer epicness of it. SR3 is for the over the top fun when I feel the need to just unwind and laugh. MW3 is my online game since my friends won't play anything else online and I have fun gaming with them. And Jurassic Park is literally just because it is Jurassic Park and while I am not convinced that I will like it at all, I already paid for it because I want more of that story and it has Raptors. Yeah I know....I'm easy but give me dinosaurs and I will buy any game. Lol

PSA: Duke Nukem Forever demo on XBL, Steam

Jun 22nd 2011 10:33AM (Joystiq)
I didn't mean to come off sounding like I was bashing either game honestly. I do think they're amazing games in their own rights I'm just not a huge fan. It's just what I'm used to. I actually did like Reach quite a bit and I'm buying the new Battlefield for sure. I play COD online from time to time but usually only One in The Chamber. Lol, feels so much like Golden Eye's golden gun that I can't get enough of it. I'm the same way with Street Fighter and MK. I own both, but I really prefer MK over SF. Just what I'm used to I guess. But sorry dude.

PSA: Duke Nukem Forever demo on XBL, Steam

The game isn't great, but I don't think it's terrible either. The sense of humor brings me back to middle school, but in a good way. My problems with it is the load times, the fact that even on easy you can be killed waaay too easily and the amount of bullets it takes to put someone down. But the last is a problem I have with many shooters from Battlefield to Halo. Great games in their own regards, but being a more COD type of guy, I like to be able to put someone down with one headshot or 2-3 bullets in their chest. I'd give the game a 6.5 outta 10. Not good, but not horrible either. I would say rent it though because the demo is terrible compared to the real game. Horrible level choice for the second part of the demo.

Gearbox helps man propose via Claptrap

Apr 26th 2011 6:16PM (Joystiq)
I've wanted to play this game for a while now, just never got around to picking it up. But if this is what Gearbox will do for their fans, I think I'll go ahead and buy it later today. Simply awesome Gearbox!

Resident Evil: Revival Selection brings RE4 and Code Veronica to 360, PS3

Mar 23rd 2011 10:36PM (Joystiq)
@Milkman4321 Agreed entirely on the remakes. I'd love to see them some day. Or a new RE game in the vein of the originals. i.e. slow ZOMBIES and even the damn hunters that can take your head off with one hit. I hated them back then, but I like to think that they made me into a stronger person in life.

Resident Evil: Revival Selection brings RE4 and Code Veronica to 360, PS3

YES!!! Win for Capcom if this is also released as a NA disc! If not....then F*CK You! Lol, but I have been wanting to play Code Veronica again for quite a while now, and I never finished RE4. Great game, but as a RE title it and RE5 felt too weird. Fun, but not RE. I did finish RE5 after I made myself think of it as something else entirely and not a RE game, so I will be anxious to try out RE4 as well. But please release the Gamecube RE1 remake on Xbox! I will gladly hand over $60 on day one for it. I can still remember being a kid when the original RE came out, big Playstation box and all. Toys -R- Us was out of the old slips for it that they used back then and as I was walking out the door I noticed a slip for it on the ground. I picked it up, ran to the counter, got the game and ran off joyously! All to have my parents ground me for a week because I got a game that was too "mature" for me! Well screw you mom! I can now defend myself in a zombie outbreak. You however, can not. And not I will not help you.
