NHL 12 trailer introduces new forms of ice-tackling
Jul 13th 2011 11:21PM (Joystiq)Final Fantasy XIII Special Edition Xbox 360 Bundle includes 250GB hard drive, will cost $399
Feb 14th 2010 12:59PM (Joystiq)there is a big difference between special editions and plain jane bundles. xbox has this exclusivity on the freakin bundle, and they decided to put a faceplate on it? I'm wondering when Xbox consumers are going to realize that MS has really been price gouging them for this entire generation.

Oct 5th 2009 9:09AM (Engadget)If the whole thing is housed in a separate box, couldn't they just do this by writing something for the PS3 and adding a tuner?
If demand, I see Sony just massively destroying this product by announcing some sort of add on that does the same thing on a PS3 for much cheaper.

Sep 10th 2009 6:00PM (Engadget)Can anyone give me the tech overview what a 3d tv is? What hardware are you paying more for?
why cant 3d be done via a normal set if the two images are set to blue/red with different perspectives.
Or is this a tv set that doesnt need the glasses (like NEC's special monitors)?

Aug 26th 2009 10:06PM (Joystiq)holy.. those don't look like 34Cs...

PS3 Slim: Mockup vs. reality
Aug 18th 2009 4:11PM (Joystiq)looks like sony pulled off all the shiny bits of the current console to get a barebones system. This thing not only looks cheap, but is probably a huge savings in materials and assembly, hence it is cheap for them to make.
Lets hope that it doesn't crap out like cheap products. I'm expecting a higher failure rate.
I'll wait for a while, maybe when cell moves to 32nm and all the kinks have been worked out. Until then, my BC 80g system will ride high.
Game Informer: Xbox 360 at 54.2 percent failure rate
Aug 17th 2009 4:16PM (Joystiq)This goes way beyond pathetic, this is sinister. Microsoft acknowledged that it had a problem and offered to repair some errors, but I have a feeling with the firm turning a profit with each Xbox bought, maybe it isn't in their best interested to improve the hardware if most people decided "screw it, i'll just buy another one".
Hardware is in its 4th year. Unless the packaging was designed by monkeys, you'd think they would have fixed it by now.
Sinister. One more reason I hate Microsoft. (Just goes to show that a desperate company like Sony cannot afford to have expensive consoles fail).
Review: King of Fighters XII
Jul 31st 2009 3:21PM (Joystiq)damn, I was so looking forward to this too..
Guess the business model is to take us to the cleaners on DLC.
Saddest part of all this.., the last SNK fighter I enjoyed was Capcom vs. SNK 2.
Maybe they can license the next title to Arc Systems.
PlayStation hardware, software sales decline in Q1 2009
Jul 30th 2009 2:53PM (Joystiq)Now this is just a far off guess..., but seeing as how the sony has this whole "10 year lifespan" and the developers are groaning as it is (though software development does seem to be moving in PS3's direction..) maybe the PS4 will actually be an addon to the PS3?
I hope it is. I dont see myself spending 500 dollars on a console ever again, unless there is a marked departure in concept (sorry wii, graphics matter).
Oh and sony, boohoo you arent making money, but this whole console business is about losing on the hardware. So sack up and cut the damn price you pussies.

Jun 24th 2009 3:53PM (Joystiq)Why isn't there a bluetooth pad?
First, I've NEVER been a fan of MadCatz products, I've never had much success with them, from their flimsy carry cases, to their el cheapo pads (the fury.., from the early PS2 days..).
Plus, this whole half ass compatibility scares me. Why can't we get a real pad, working on bluetooth?
Is this some licensing issue?
