Test Drive Unlimited 2 trailer features character customization, hot beats

Jan 25th 2011 8:29AM (Joystiq)
@camero12 Did you read my comment before posting? I preordered the game on Steam. I probably wouldn't have, though, if it was going for $60 like a lot of new PC games are.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 trailer features character customization, hot beats

I'm a serious racing game fan. Forza, Gran Turismo, and lesser known titles like Live for Speed just to name a few. I was a fan of the first Unlimited, and it seems that the second is just improving on that formula. It's not GT or Forza by any stretch of the imagination when it comes to driving physics, but the beta seemed to strike a good balance between arcade and sim. The beta also showed none of the bugs that the first Unlimited suffered from, and was actually very solid. I personally am looking forward to this game. And it's really hard to argue with the $40 (on PC, $50 on consoles) price point.

Ceton's InfiniTV 4 CableCARD tuner delayed again

May 21st 2010 9:28PM (Engadget HD)
Ugh... I was afraid this was going to happen with May 31st getting close and a total lack of news. Still worth waiting for, but it doesn't make putting up with the cableco any easier.

TiVo Premiere review

@hbbyboy

I've got my InfiniTV 4 pre-ordered right now. I'm done with Tivo the instant I can swap the M-card in my series 3 to the WMC PC that I have waiting for the end of May (I'd dump them now, but I really don't want to have to get an M-card again). I would say that a good portion of Tivo subscribers are the type that would not be daunted by putting a pci-e card into a PC. Once Ceton, Silicon Dust, and maybe Hauppauge get cablecard tuners on the market, Tivo is going to loose a large chunk of their subscribers.

Ceton's quad CableCARD tuner for Media Center available for pre-order

@tav000

Thanks for the info, that's good to know. I was hoping that Ceton would have better selection in vendors.

Holy crap... so much for the $399 launch price. Pre-ordering from Zones will set you back a cool $520 after shipping and tax. Sorry Ceton... I want to dump Tivo, but not bad enough to drop that kind of money. I'll wait until someone else has it in stock and isn't demanding my first born.

TiVo Premiere and Premiere XL usher in a brand new interface, optional QWERTY remote

@rlay001

I'm with you all the way there. I haven't been paying Tivo $13 a month for over two years just to get dumped for the series 4. Soon as the Ceton cards come out I'm cancelling my subscription. And that will actually be a one stop box for entertainment with the blu-ray drive the PC I'm planning to put it in has. Sorry Tivo. I'm ending the relationship. Never thought I'd say it, but Microsoft has the better option now.

Not with Windows Media Center.

Ceton's quad CableCARD tuner for Windows Media Center gets a price

@jesusio

I'm completely with you. I'm tired of paying Tivo $13 a month for almost zero development. It's pretty sad when the cableco's STB UIs are starting to look better. They may not work better, but this isn't the 90's anymore. WMC's UI used to be kind of clunky in the XP days, but in Win7 it really puts Tivo to shame.

@TeqPho

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think XBMC can handle DRMed content. That's the point of a media center extender; it can. Live TV is also an area I believe only the extender would be able to handle.
