ION making even fancier Rock Band drum set

@decypherSMC
Your kit sounds awesome, your idea with the hi-hat is one I have been pondering for a while now (while saving for my VH-12). I am really happy to know it works. I keep adding a little more day to day to make the drum experience that much more realistic.
Thanks for the info.

The glue in my marriage is that my wife and I can drive each other crazy without getting offended or angry.

wow, what a great list!. I cant recall the last time I wanted an entire track pack.

@Syphon, I agree... not to mention, long songs piss my wife off, so Grapevine would be a wonderful dig at her. I keep hoping for an unedited version of Inagodadavida to really annoy her. lol

One minor flaw, while Roland makes some fine E.drum kits (check out the TD-20S if you got plenty of cash to sling) what it lacks is the controller that hooks everything up to your game console of choice... and Ion isn't selling them separately)
When I bought the Ion, I had no idea I would get into drumming like I am and have long since upgraded it. I added a Roland KD8 kick pad with real pedal (which I HIGHLY recommend to everyone), Pintec Cymbals, and if I ever get an extra 500 to drop on this thing, I want the Roland VH-12 high hat too.
The Ion is awesome for beginner drummers and works fantastic for RB. The only flaw with it is that the image they show has the RB drum kit layout, but the red pad (aka your snare drum) needs to be in between your knees not off to the left. Since it is near-fully adjustable, I'd say the Ion is flawless.

Guitar Hero 6, another DJ Hero coming this fall

you are not alone, I am not with you... but you are not alone. The thing that has made many people like yourself so sick of rhythm games is in this very news story (or non-news since its expected at this point). Activison took a popular franchise and has flooded the market with it to bleed it dry before it gets old and tired. That's why I get annoyed with Harmonix when they announce garbage like RB: Greenday.
A new version of Rockband every year or two is cool for the updated graphics and features, The Beatles are iconic and too huge to not make into their own game ... but Greenday? really? sure they are popular in their own right and had a few good songs, but they are NOT iconic, they did not add to the music world, and they are not commonly spoken of when new bands speak of influences.
I like Rock Band (just) I get new songs every week and play it for the sake of my love of the drums and not actually being in a band since I was 18 (which was a long god damn time ago). I dont want to see this genre die because I love the fact that I have so many great songs and new greats are right around the corner.
As long as HMX is making stupid choices, and Activision is making a new game every other week... more people will feel like you do, they will stop buying, and both companies will move on to new projects.

... and that just sucks.

lol, you are right ... but since GH6 doesn't officially exist yet, wouldn't the author (or someone associated somehow) of this post need to mock up an image for show?

if the songs can be ripped to RB2, I may rent this just to get the Dookie songs, otherwise I couldnt care less about this game.

Mega64 works up a sweat with motion controls

Apr 2nd 2010 12:14PM (Joystiq)
The end was funny as hell. The rest is whatever.
I am all for the motion controls on a good console. Wii isnt terrible, but you have to be under 12 to appreciate the Disney/facebook type games that keep popping up like cancer. I really only want the PS Move for Tiger Woods 11. It has promise for other games, but seriously ... real motion golfing, hopefully in 3D (yes I'll be first in line to get that fantastic add-on too) on a system that is actually great for gaming? I am all in.
