Totally off topic but what is that dashboard background picture? I want that, it's awesome!

PSA: Battlefield: Bad Company 2's 'Squad Rush' now available to all

Apr 2nd 2010 6:36PM (Joystiq)
BAHAHAHA....all those who told me I was an idiot for not pre-ordering from Gamestop instead of getting this game through Amazon and getting a free $20 gift card by doing so......EAT IT!

I've been enjoying this game since day one and haven't missed Squad Rush mode until now...because now I can play it. I can play it along side my free $20 Amazon gift card. KTHXBAI!

Majin and the Forsaken Trailer

Is the gameplay/fighting like God of War or is it a real-time RPG type of fighting? If it's God of War button mashing, I don't want it.

Joyswag: win an Astro Gaming A30 headset for your games, music, phonecalls

Mar 16th 2010 4:49PM (Joystiq)
I would love an Astro gaming headset in the hopes that Manny Pacquiao himself would CALL me to sing me the SONG "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love for You," immediately followed by me playing as Manny in the Fight Night Round 4 GAME on my PS3.

Video of this glorious man and song here:

Thank you.

GOOD! I'm glad they're doing this. PSP piracy is so rampant and I hate it. Good for Sony for doing this!

Palm Pixi one step closer to free, now $25 on Amazon

@Michael Scrip

There's no denying that the better deal is on Sprint, by far. The per month/year comparison is huge. Yeah, technically you can get your iPhone bill down to $80/month but you're still held down by limited services. On Sprint, you can have 450 minutes and UNLIMITED EVERYTHING else for $60 per month. And about those minutes....none of those will ever be used when you call another cell phone, no matter the carrier. Sorry, but nothing beats that.

As for comparing the Pixi to the iPhone, yes, duh, there's no comparison but there isn't intended to be. The Pre however....I don't think it's "debatable." In fact, the Pre can do more than the iPhone but to be fair, I think it just comes down to preference of device, OS and carrier.

And finally, Sprint's 3G blows away AT&T's. That's a fact. So, while the iPhone is definitely a great device, I'd rather get a phone like the Pre, which actually lets me do work (multitasking is your friend) but also play. Paying $60 instead of an average of $100 per month, on a better network mind you, is a no brainer.

Facebook finally comes to webOS, not with a bang but a whimper

Nov 16th 2009 12:40PM (Engadget)
This Facebook app is bare-bones at the moment but they have a really good, solid foundation for future updates that will add all the necessary features the full-fledged Facebook site offers. Keep in mind, this is VERSION ONE. As some have stated above, the iPhone Facebook app was laughable at version 1.0 and wasn't good until about version 3.0 so give this time.

I actually really like the look and feel of this webOS Facebook app. The UI works well and it's SUPER smooth. I can't wait for the updates!

Hardware battle looms for theoretical successors to Nintendo DS and Sony PSP

Look, the iPod Touch/iPhone has games. So does the Zune HD. They're all three great multi-media devices but none will ever compare to something like that PSP for gaming. Touch controls alone detract from the actual game experience. The games on the App Store can be really great but again, there's no comparison to a real portable gaming system. A good example of this is iPhone's "Real Racing" vs PSP's Gran Turismo. HUGE difference. Yes, Gran Turismo definitely costs more but if you want a real portable gaming experience, you have to pay a bit more. In my opinion, it's completely worth it.

Palm Pre WebOS 1.3.1 update available now

@Prokanda

I was talking about/using Pandora. Good luck doing that on your iPhone.

It's called multi-tasking. It's not just about changing audio tracks. Maybe you should check your facts before mouthing off?

Palm Pre WebOS 1.3.1 update available now

@boner (fitting)

We're talking about Sprint here. You know, the company with a real network? This download took ab......oh wait, let me switch the track I'm listening to in the background while I'm typing this on my Pre. Ok, where were we? Ah yes, the download took about 30 minutes, start to finish.
