Hey guys - Times doesn't actually integrate Facebook or Twitter into news feeds, though you can share articles with both. Might want to fix this in the article.
Do you work at an Apple Store or have info to back this up? Canadians didn't have any issue buying iPhones in the US. I would imagine Apple will want to sell as many iPads on day one as they can.
With the device arriving internationally just a month later, it doesn't make sense to go to great lengths to turn away buyers. And what's to stop someone from paying in cash?
Why should a game be devalued just because it's 2D? You guys are so concerned with bullet point features and big budget graphics that you forget this is simply a quality game, easily worth $50. No one can make a fun, polished, tightly controlled platformer like Nintendo can. They are not easy games to create. And multiplayer in Mario is a pretty big deal, online or not.
It's good, very good. I'd say it's one of my favourite adventure games of all time, next to Myst and Monkey Island. Puzzles are confined to single rooms early in the game, but it quickly opens up and you'll have to explore the entire city to solve various puzzles.
The walkthrough feature doesn't ruin the game at all. If people get stuck, most will simply look for a walkthrough on the internet, so this is a way to help people move past an area they're stuck on without breaking the experience. And the walkthrough itself is brilliantly done. You'll only see a small set of illustrations showing what you need to do in order, and you only have access to the steps immediately related to the area of the game you're in.
Still, going alone without the walkthrough is encouraged, as you'll have to beat a side-scrolling minigame to gain access to it. There's also a less spoilerific "hint" button that can simply point you in the right direction.
As much as I'd love to blame Adobe, this is a Mac OS X issue that has been present for a while now in Leopard. Any window with more than one attached child window will not behave properly with Spaces. Apple doesn't seem to care.
