Weekly Webcomic Wrapup is reminding you about PAX East stuff
Mar 25th 2012 2:18AM (Joystiq)Why can nobody tell that was on purpose? He's the stupid character, since when is he not allowed to say stupid things?
LittleBigPlanet Karting arriving in 2012 from ModNation Racers devs
Mar 22nd 2012 11:34AM (Joystiq)I don't have too much of a problem with ModNation Racers myself, but when I saw the title of the article, I was worried it was just going to be ModNation with a LittleBigPlanet skin.
I was wrong. :D This looks awesome.
Kid Icarus: Uprising's 3DS stand holds up to scrutiny
Mar 19th 2012 7:44PM (Joystiq)I throw shells and banana peels with X.
It's pretty brutal.

Mar 19th 2012 5:46PM (Joystiq)The GameBoy Camera. Ooh, or maybe a Wormlight.

Mar 19th 2012 5:42PM (Joystiq)And the control scheme really isn't that bad. I just tried it on my 3DS and I don't really have balance problems. If worst comes to worst, you could always just use part of your right hand to help balance the right side. It's not as if using the stylus takes up your entire hand.
Team Meat looking to Sony platforms for Binding of Isaac
Mar 1st 2012 2:12AM (Joystiq)Denying the game for religious reasons isn't the same as being completely okay with the rest of the non-religious aspects. Sure, the religion is the reason it was denied, but I'm sure the mutilation, fetuses, and yes, even the Mom's Pad (since Cirrus can't seem to drop that point) didn't really help their case.

Feb 29th 2012 9:36PM (Joystiq)I completely agree that parents need to take care of their own damn parasites, but unfortunately it's just not that simple in this case. If some dumbass parent ignores the ESRB rating and just buys the game for their son/daughter, there's a good chance Nintendo's going to get the blame when they see their kid collecting an upside-down cross as an item and getting possessed by Satan in the game. Sadly, that's just how it is. Stupid people hate admitting they did something wrong and, at the end of the day, Nintendo can't make games if they don't have cash, and they can't get cash if parents don't let their kids buy games.
Plus, I'm sure there would have been people who would have had similar reactions even if they didn't buy the game. All it takes is a mass email or scare-tactic news report to get somebody pissed off at Nintendo.
Pac-Man's 'Adventure Begins' next year in new animated series
Feb 29th 2012 8:53PM (Joystiq)Get off your nostalgia train for a second, dude, the show hasn't even premiered yet. Try looking at this from an unbiased point of view instead of just bashing the thought of anybody trying to make something new out of your precious, perfect childhood.
The current generation's kids are going to have a childhood too, you know. Would you have preferred not having Kirby: Right Back at Ya?

Feb 29th 2012 8:27PM (Joystiq)I feel like the backlash they would get from pissed off parents would greatly outweigh the profit they would get from Binding of Isaac. For a company that labels itself as family-friendly, I can't believe anybody was surprised that it was rejected.
I love Binding of Isaac too, but I'd have done the same thing if I was them. One of the items you can get is a thorn crown which turns your tears into blood, and that's just scratching the surface. I mean, seriously, if word got out about a game like that in the Nintendo eShop, imagine how many parents would flip their shit over it and never allow their kid buy a Nintendo game again.
It baffles me that people are even getting angry at Nintendo about this. Can you really blame them for not wanting to stir a shit-storm of angry parents and potentially lose customers for a measly $5 downloadable game?
Binding of Isaac not coming to 3DS eShop
Feb 29th 2012 8:05PM (Joystiq)Yes, Nintendo is doomed because they didn't allow a mildly popular $5 downloadable game into their wildly successful handheld market full of best-selling first-party $40 AAA titles. They clearly need a controversial game (which was based on one of their own games, by the way) that could easily lose them customers to get those wheelbarrows of money rolling in.
